New way of scamming people - lost 40m

Trust SCAM Method Revealed



Learn from my mistakes people.

So this people turn to be legit sellers, very friendly and polite and they give you working pins, then ask you for like 10m to restock, then give you working pins again. Then they ask for 20mils, ask you to take 10m from your customer by the pretext they are buying pins in bulks... and in the end you get:

Great I'm not crazy over pixel money and I have good stats to get everything I need.

Too bad I haven't listened to my dad, he told me about this method of stealing from people.
Here's the story: A girl met a foreign student. The first day she borrowed 10$ and said she will return the next day. And she did, than he asked for 100$, telling him she'l repay him in 2 days. And she did. In the end she asked for 1000$, the student knowing she can be trusted gave her. She vanished with the money.

Had to return customers gp from my bank which is damaged. Won't risk my reputation for gp.

If you gave already an amount of money to a possible scammer and he asks for more there is still hope. First of all insist that you don't have gp, or items to sell. Second tell him you found a friend that might loan you but he wants to see the GP, to make sure he is getting them back. If the scammers are greedy (they are) he could give your money back. Not 100% work but might help some of you.

Sounds like any other confidence scam out there, in RS or IRL =\ sorry for the hit your bank took. It happens to all of us in one way or another, whether we realise it or not. People do that in stakes a lot, where they let you win 1 or 2, then wipe the floor with you on a big stake.

 

Probably some illiterate kid who just got lucky and thought 40$ was going to get him all the candy he could get for a year.

 

Not like i'm mad, not like I care about gp... Hope that kid gets all the candy he needs.

Btw the method is earn your trust and take your money, simple.

Thats probably needed for all methods, trust.
You don't need to trust people over the internet, simple.

Sucks, the upgrade section of the boards is crawling with scammers it's not even funny.

 

I'm sorry man thanks for letting us know about this method. Seems to be more and more scammers everyday. I personally just stopped trading with people that aren't trusted. It's sad that people feel the need to scam rather then be legit and make a GOOD reputation for their name. Thanks for posting the email

Hope the kid gets a ban or something. I believe in karma so I'm sure something will eventually happen to him.

 

Just what we needed, you to share yet another scamming method with the hundreds of scammers that lurk around on Sythe.

 

But now the Tens of thousands of legit buyers that lurk around on Sythe will be knowledgeable and be able to prevent scam attempts.

Though this method is basically;

Gain your trust.
Screw you over.

 

This isn't new. The method od earning some ones trust , and then breaking that trust is just called back stabbing in this case, scamming.

Unfortunately we live in a cruel society and you just need to always be watching you self. Especially round sythe now free trade is back.

 

Moral of the Story, Trust and Business don't mix, otherwise the world wouldn't have lawyers and contracts.

People make up new scams every day, they can't make their own Gp or money so they make new ways to scam people, pathetic
