Can I hit high with cannonballs...

Can i still hit high with cannonballs even thought I'm 40 range?

I've seen people hit like 260's...

Yep. You will smash 250-300s. Range level doesn't matter, but range does matter slightly

 

40 range means you'll be getting normal average hits, don't wear range gear to try and help it unless you ranging and note that cannons only give one half of range exp and no hp exp.

 

As deluxe said, they hit random, so go hard and hope for big hits. Its fast training tho.

Max is 320 for me. I have never hit higher than that. I don't reang etoo much though.

I've cannoned several thousand frost kills and I have observed, as Rs wiki states, that the max is indeed 300.

 

Are you using rigour/extreme ranges/void? I'm not sure if they affect it or not.

 

I do use rigour now and then on Frosts, and have used void before.
No change.

Your range level doesn't affect cannon hits so I don't see why it would affect the damage.

 

Your gear does not effect the hit. 300 is max.
