Bot Tech VPS servers

Absolutely, I'm already working on a system (for our yet to exist site) where whenever a help ticket is submitted an admin gets a text. He can then respond to your ticket ASAP ensuring that you are taken care of very quickly.

I can guarantee reliability and if we do have any downtime you won't be charged for it and those hours will be rolled back on.

Our biggest issue at the moment is power. 3 of our servers are hosted in an attic at one of the admins homes and two others are hosted at my apartment. I've worked out a deal with my ISP to double bandwidth so that won't be a problem however to start atleast you may only be able to run 2-3 bots at a time. Because of this I'm going to bump the price down to $8.99 a month atleast until I can get our servers to a point where you can run 10+ bots without any trouble.

When will the servers be ready? im looking to be able to bot 4 accounts at sorc, so im thinking 2gb? whats the price for that? hit me up with some info

4-5 bots at 8.99? 4-5 bots means 2GB+ ram. Providing it at that price and paying the bandwidth costs is impossible...

 

Bandwidth isn't at all that expensive where I'm hosting. As far as servers go I can charge those prices because I recently got an amazing deal on thinclients from a friend of mine who's in that buisness.

However if this grows I can't promise those prices won't change although my goal at the moment is to keep them as low as possible.

 

I'm looking toward getting them up between wednessday to friday of next week. They will sell on a first come first serve basis. I'm also offering a trial period to people who want to just try it out, but due to the vast number of emails/pms I've gotten I may have discontinue the trial service, atleast until we have significantly more servers.

Let me give you some little pointers here:
1. Support ticket to text is a really bad idea, not just because of the cost but it could be abused really bad.
2. If you have servers located in your home and appartment, the bandwith wouldn't be worth your money.
3. If you had a power surge which you probably would because you are running servers in a home for commerical use, you're screwed.
4. You would need to give someone around 5gb of ram for $8.99 which wouldn't even be worth your power bill.
5. You're probably going to max out your servers with the 5gb of ram you are giving each person.

Good luck on you business but I really recomend that you fix this.

 

Yeah thanks for the tips. That's only a starting point. We backup user data until they terminate there account so worse case scenario were down a few days. Bandwidth isn't our biggest problem and we do plan on moving to a more secure location once it's off the ground.

 

Here's an idea and thought I would ask just to get an idea of who would be interested in this service. Alot of people run several of there bots on there home computer and only one or two on a VPS meaning that they only use a fraction of the VPS's capability.

I am thinking about also launching lightweight cheap servers ($4.99) to cater people who only want to run 1-2 extra bots.

Would any of you be interested?

 

That 3 dollar isn't worth it.
I would just simply pay 3 dollar more and rune a few more bots.

 

Oh I think you misunderstand. The scenario given is that you don't have the capability as far as hardware is concerned to run extra bots so you purchase a cheap VPS to run the bots you couldn't run on your computer.

 

Slimservers will be substantially cheaper and are perfect for people who just need to run one or two bots.

 

Ok good news and bad news...

Good news: I got a few more servers in so I'll offer those under our slim package (1gb of RAM.)

Bad news: bumped into reality today and there is no way I can do the $8.99 jazz. I'll have to bump it up to atleast $10.99 month just to break even and that doesn't cover the time I spent putting all of these servers together. Bottom line I have slimservers (1gb) will be around $8.99 and and Basic servers (2gb) will be around $10.99. I haven't added a premium plan yet but those will be 4gb and will cost around $19.99 a month. These prices aren't set in stone we'll see when the ball gets rolling. Again sorry about this but please note these prices are still very cheap. If I could afford it I'd offer this service for free really! We have a great community at sythe and it's the least I can do. =)

 

Even with the incresed prices, its still a better deal then almost any vps currently in service.
