Tips for a Starting Middleman?

wow cool, im guessing unofficial mm? get vouches and proof of trade that youve done some mming then apply for the omm?

 

Just make a thread, do a load of big trades, get highly trusted and apply for OMM. :nuts:

Have an msn that is simple, so people easily know it's you. Like [email protected]. Pick google mail because it is harder to hack than ones like Hotmail or Yahoo! so you have less chance of being hacked and people think you are a scammer. Get an avatar, get someone to make you a custom signature/avatar, I personally recommend Kinaesthic Graphics they are very good! Get a signature where it has 'Vouches 50+' on one part of the pic, and 'Middlemanning' on the other side. The signature and avatar are purely for aesthetics, but they do make you look a lot lot more professional.

So far your signature is blank other than the vouch thread, and you have no avatar. So there is very little to separate you from a newcomer with 1 post on first glance. Then comes making the actual thread, this is another important step. Make the title something catchy, and try to get a nice looking thread layout. The guy I recommended ^ also does them, so try getting one from him!

That's the easy part over, but that is probably the most important part. Next you need to actually find 'customers', start off by doing it for free, until you get some vouches for MM'ing, then slowly start increasing your prices, but make them competitive with other MM's. Try to always be online on MSN, and word will go out between people that you are good, and that you are always online. Most of your 'business' will come from word of mouth. Do not under any circumstance scam anyone. Simple, and I know you wouldn't do it, so that is all I have to say about it . Try to be as professional about the trades, if someone tries to lower a price, say no, and leave it at that, don't argue about it. This ruins your reputation And just try to generally be a professional, bubbly, charismatic guy. Make sure to be willing to speak to the seller and buyer beforehand, and get to know them, as this makes them feel more secure in you.
