I support obviously, but what makes people think the scam reports are real? The hacker could've easily just took a partyhat or whatever from their account (that they more than likely previously scammed) and pretended to trade, so the scammer gets MORE money that way? More than 3/4th's of the scam reports placed on video weren't even legitimate, but how can we tell if they are or not?

exactly my point. Not implementing this rule simply affords more opportunities to scammers and punishes legit big traders who are often the victims of these hackings.

I agree, you should get a PM, not just for your safety, but for the other person as well.

Its just saving your own ass and screwing the victims. Most people still wont do this even if it is a rule, not because they are lazy or w/e but because they don't know how sythe.org works. If you state your msn publicly, be ready to suffer the consequences.

I'm not exactly sure what sacro and giddy are saying, but I support this. There is no reason why this shouldnt be implented. People who have msn's in their signature saying this is my one and only I won't trade with any other msn, should be held responsible for the scams that are done on the hacked msn while it's still in their sig.

Going to use Nate's latest incident being hacked situation. For a few hours after the annoncement was made, his msn was still saying that it was hacked. In some sections there isnt even the option to view the announcements. I personally rarely check the announcements. If I see something in their signature about that is their only msn, I won't hesitate to trade them.

It should not be only done if the MSN is linked with your Sythe account, if not - you need a PM, if you have the balls to link it with your account - have the balls to secure it or refund the people if you do not.

This should also have an effect(e or a I don't know) on people being involved with impersonation. I completely understand that if the SYTHE ACCOUNT was hacked as well, then that's fine. The real person has to pay back because of the Sythe account was gone, but otherwise I don't think this should be tolerated.

    Absolutely not.

Consider what you're allowing - if an MM isn't asked to PM, you're pretty much giving him license to scam, and get away with it.

Really, it's the MM's fault if they use hotmail or live anyway. We've known those addresses are insecure for over a year now.

Support. Extra security can't hurt and it would benefit both the buyer and seller. I truly believe that MSN can easily get hacked and it's most of the time, not the owner's fault. It is unfair that they have to pay for things that was not in their control. I would like this to happen.

I agree with this statement, most new members don't know they should request a pm even if you plaster it all over your thread, but then again its also unfair to say the owner is responsible because a mass hacking occurred.

Maybe there could be a message when you sign up that says "Always request a pm even if you know who your trading", or something along those lines in big bright letters then there isn't really an excuse not to of.

Gmail/Yahoo/Aol/Hotmail/Live/Mail.com I wont go on, are all very insecure, extremely. If you are using one of these addressees its your own ignorance.

That's a good point that we're all forgetting. This is indeed true, if we give this opportunity to people, they will obviously scam seeing the chance. I can't make up my decision on whether this should happen or not.

Own ignorance? You think FireZ's gmail being hacked after we were FORCED by staff to change our emails to that it is our own ignorance?

Say I was buying a blue phat from a new member. I link him to my OMM thread, and the OMM list. He double checks and sees that my email is the same. I could then probably get him to give me the phat w/o a PM and after the fact, claim my email address was hacked. Since I never sent a PM I wouldn't have to refund him and everything continues on like nothing happened. This would let people go on scamming frenzies, its just not a good idea.

My gmail was hacked less then 12 hrs from making it, having only added 7 ppl.

Also if an MM isn't requiring pms they should be banned from MM'ing to begin with

    My opinion
