How common do you figure it is...

How common do you reckon that someone will type in your name incorrectly?

i.e. What do you think the likelyhood is of someone typing in "Hello1230" instead of "Hello123O" (just as an example)?

I'm trying to decide if I should make twins, or if I should just make a really complicated name for an account I am creating.

 

Most people don't type in names wrong unless it's complicated. I for one notice if I hit an extra key.

 

I guess I mean would you ever mistake a character for another? Like an O for an 0 and visa versa, an l for an I and visa versa, etc. etc.

If you're talking about people reporting/looking your account up some people don't even bother if it's too difficult while others keep trying until they get it.

Anyways I like accounts/other accounts with no numbers in their name because it makes it look more clean and professional, but it's all based on preference.
If you're going staking/pking I'd make a hard name.

 

If you're going for a botting name then pick a nooby name, then misspell it. IE - kiler12423

I'm going to make a staker that will be maxed out with 1 prayer/summon, and it would be nice for at least SOME of the people I vs to be around my CB level, and it would also be nice to have some higher levels double up on stakes because they think I have crap stats.

People hardly ever mess it up, especially if they are staking.
Names that people have trouble looking up are extremely hard to make now.
With the removal of adding extra spaces, there is nothing that really throws people off.
Unless you find somebody incredibly mentally unsound.

If you're creating a name for staking - people generally won't stake you unless they have a good idea of what you're packin.

^ Atleast, for higher risk stakes of 10m+

For pk, hardly anybody looks people up anymore unless they're on swiftkit. And the difference in stats doesn't usually matter as much as it would in staking.

Anyways.

Staking - People wont mess up on names unless they have something wrong with them, if they're incredibly tired or drunk or on some kind of drug, possibly. But everybody who stakes large amounts of gold is well aware of the value it has ($1/m) and people aren't going to stake over 10m without knowing you stats.

I understand the idea of the twin thing, sometimes it works, but in the case that they do mistake a letter - which is very uncommon, it's not really worth the work of making twins.

 

Some people on my fl have really confusing names which make it hard for me to do things like join their chats, I think they have the names for pking and such.

After a while, if they haven't changed names again, usually less mistakes are made as I get used to the names.


For something like what you're doing, as some others have stated or at least tried to state, don't just misspell a word, try to be more complicated then that. O's aren't as difficult to tell from 0's as I's(capital "i") are to tell from l's(lowercase "L").

 

First off all is it just me or does this feel like a dumb question.
But to answer it, people make mistakes it happense there could be a number of factors why someone cant spell a name it could be complicated you could be tired..etc..

I think I'm just going to ruin a Zerker pure I have (so I wouldn't have to train up a whole new account) to become a twin type of thing. Added to that, they will both have really annoyingly horrible names with only either an l and I as a difference, or a 0 an O as a difference.

Just make a name like :

lIllILLILILll or 0I 0o 0o 0

Those are difficult as hell to look up, also capital I's look like L's.

 

make your name: pqgppqgpqpgq

 

The best way is to make a name that looks easy to make and "plan" a mistake in it. EX: I Like HObb0s. 0 and O are the one letters that actually change depending which letter they're next to...

So there is a good chance they will just enter I Like Hobbos and it will pull up your "noob" account with prayer, summoning, ect.
