Someone help :(

Sythe, I need some advice

To put it simple and short, I broke my dad's LCD flat screen TV. Now, you can't see nor hear anything..

What in the hell do I do? I'm just lost and have no freaking clue of what to do.. Please don't troll, I really do not want to upset my dad.

Just be honest, all you can do man. If you leave it unsaid, and he finds out, there may be consequences? not saying there wont be any if you be honest. But yeh.

 

I'm very scared of my father, he isn't a man who takes too kindly to "accidents" like mine.

The TV was worth $1000+ in USD and I dunno how I'll ever pay that back..

I'm so depressed

Lying will only make things worse. Unless you have a grand laying about to buy a new one without him knowing, your only real option is honesty.

 

Okay. So this is how I'm think of the situation atm.

I have about 800$ USD in my bank and my birthday is the 11th of March, which is next Friday.

So, if I could, do you think I can buy a new TV? I'll have maybe over $1000 so I can buy a nice flat screen for my dad.

Do you think this could work?

 

I think you should be honest, and maybe its not that bad for TV, maybe you can just get it repaired for few 100's, be honest with dad and say you can repair it, the only way i think.

 

I agree the best thing is to be honest and you will feel MUCH better at the end and see how you can pay it back. Being honest and not having a hostile talk will negotiate much better at your end.

 

How did you break it? If it was an accident, he will probably get mad, then realize it was an accident and then he'll still will probably be pissed off, but not as bad.

 

I basically smacked the TV b/c I was so mad at my mom.. I didn't think before my hand lashed out b/c I was just so mad...

 

Take it to a master to repair it. Tell your dad.

 

dang.. i was in the same situation when i crashed his truck.. its better if you tell him, i didnt and it only got worse.

Did you punch a hole into it? If there is no noticeable damage to it then I'm sure it can be fixed. I would lie and not tell him you punched it. Pretty much any other story you can think of would be better than telling him the full truth.

 

Well lying isn't going to get you anywhere, the truth will come out regardless, will your mom not tell him anyway, best thing is to be truthful i'm sure if you explained he would understand.

 

How can he not notice? Soon enough hes going to want to watch tv, and boom. Who broke my tv? Just be honest bro, it may seem abit scary, But maybe things will work out

 

You have enough money to buy a new tv bud.
Just tell your dad what happened and if he flips just offer to buy him a new one, if he doesn't then all is good

 

I don't see how your dad wont notice before you fix it . When i was younger i always tried to cover up everything i did wrong. Now i just come out with it.

It is what it is. Theirs nothing you can do about it. A little honesty goes a long way. Chances are he has insurance on it so just tell him. If your old enough to have 800+bank account im sure you wont be beat

 

Okay so basically the TV, there's no cracks or anything on it. All I see on it atm is like you know those channels where you get just the rainbow colors striped going left to right and up and down?

Well basically, a portion of my TV screen looks like that and the rest of it is just black, a bit bright black.

Did I disconnect a wire? Or did I do perm damage to the TV?

 

My best advice: be a man and approach your father with what you've done and tell him that you'll try to fix it when you find a way on how to do it.

At least my father was like this, he didn't really want to hear any excuses and was always mad about it, but when I tried it like this, he praised me for being a man. Don't be scared, it's just a TV.

Fixing it might cost somewhat 100$ so it isn't that bad as 1000$+
