Please Help a Desperate Dad...

Hopefully someone here can lend me a bit of a hand.

I am basically seeking an account for my son who has recently had his Xbox name corrupted. We never allowed him to go online with his Xbox (he is still very young) and his name recently got corrupted. We have tried contacting Microsoft Support but have been told that unless he has connected to Xbox Live he would not be able to “recover” the name and it’s corresponding score.

Thus my post here.

Basically I am asking (and if this is something I should not be doing please just let me know and accept my apologies) is it possible for us to buy an Xbox name from someone with a high score and then do this “recovery” on Xbox Live so he can have it?

I have been asking in a couple of places and have been warned that lots of folks somehow “hack” their scores and obviously I don’t want to have to go through this again so would really like a legitimate Xbox name with high score. Also I understand that I would need to have access to the email account that the Xbox name was set-up on in order to actually “own” it? Again I am not sure and would appreciate any guidance you might be able to offer.

Anyway, we are happy to pay funds via PayPal to anyone who can help.

Oh and we live in the UK if that makes any difference.

So basicly the account of yours isnt a real gamertag....like just for saves, like me makin the Matt name but if I join live I have to get a real name.

I’m not 100% what you mean Djweasel, but basically I think that is it yes. Our lad has always enjoyed trying to get the bonus points that make your score go up? You know by getting hidden things and the like.

Basically he turned his Xbox on this morning and it seems he has lost everything. I think we’d be ok if we could get a big score back for him as it seems this is what has upset him him the most.

In terms of how much – I am afraid I am somewhat at your mercy there UFC. I have no idea about the value of such things, and I can’t pretend to.

Out of interest am I being informed correctly that without the email account of the Xbox name and something called the “secret question” I cannot ever really “own” the Xbox name?

Oh, I forgot to add that our son apparently had something like 40,000 points on his Xbox name – no idea if that is a lot or something he could get back quickly though I have to assume not going on how upset he is.

 

You mean Gamescore right?
I can make you an account with all Gamesaves and the points etc...

We have actually decided that we are now going to let our son go onto Xbox Live in the future (it should also stop this from happening again hopefully) so we’d like an Xbox name that is legitimate, and not one of the ones that is “hacked”. Sorry of that is not what you mean but someone pointed out to me that if we got a modified Xbox name with a cheated score that it can be banned if you use Xbox Live. I am assuming that is right?

UFC, as much as you're trying to help, I think that BenG needs a rough estimated figure, as he's stated he doesn't really know the prices of these accounts, also it might help him to say exactly how much gamerscore is on the account. And just for your information BenG, 40,000 Gamerscore would probably take about 40-50 games fully played, so it's quite a lot.

Just when trading with someone, (especially with this sort of item) make sure that have a good reputation, with lots of vouches (previous trades) Try to make sure these trades are of high value, and not $1-$10 trades.

I wouldn't go into trade with anyone that has joined fairly recently, that have no trading history, as this item can be recovered once you have paid for it.

Always look into using an official middle man, it may cost you 10 bucks, but its better then getting scammed

If its still on your xbox just add xbox live too it and join xbox live, and he will be able to go online with that and his gamerscore. if the account was deleted, than there is nothing you can do. I would just make a thread telling everyone that your looking to buy a legit account with legit Gamerscore. There are tons of people who "MOD" the gamerscore but you can get caught very easily and be reset. I was one of them who got reset. Hope this helped you.

 

Thanks Zica, but that is sort of the problem I believe. Because we have never allowed the Xbox to be connected to the LIVE network there is no way to retrieve the data now it has been damaged.

Also thanks for the info tank kid but I am pretty sure that person you recommended does not have anything to do with accounts according to that link.

As a small update (and many thanks for the private messages) it would appear to be more specific we are looking for an account that has 40000 or more Gamer Score and is a UK account.

For 5 bucks paypal i will give you an account with around 25,000 gamerscore. and has many games played with game saves. The gamertag is changeable so your son can change it to anything he would like or you as his parents see fit. Also it is NOT hacked in anyway. Yes, this is unfortunately a public forum and staff cannot regulate trades.

To avoid something of that nature happening again please try to only trade with members who have been a member of the forum for a long time and have many successful previous trades - this can be viewed from "vouches," where other members post to state they have successfully traded with that member and were happy with the results.

 

Many thanks Luring King, it has certainly been a harsh lesson learnt - but what goes around comes around.

What surprises me the most is how scammers like dumvayne seem to be able to justify their actions in their own minds. It really is quite a sad state of affairs when they themselves manage to exist in such a warped mental state that they consider themselves beyond reproach.

As you have stated though, it is something for me to bear in mind for the future so I appreciate it.
