I need help with my ICT coursework

I'll explain what i want to do first.

I want to create a drop down box, that has a list of times in it (These are displayed at the top of the screenshot, starting at 7:00 and ending in 23:00.)

I then want to be able to select a time, and it show me a value in a different cell. For example, if i select 7:00, i want it to show me the bottem cell if the 7am row, which is 2.

    How do i do this?

PS: On the screenshot, the 7:00 collumn is collumn D.

It's pretty simple, although I don't have Excel installed at the moment and can't give you exact pointers. I'll answer as far as I remember. If the below doesn't help, I'll get Office installed sometime soon and be more specific.

You didn't say what Excel version, so I'll assume it's 2003+.

One way to do it is add an ActiveX combobox control. In 2007+, this is done from the Developer tab on the ribbon (this can be enabled from Office settings if not visible). In 2003, it's found on the menu somewhere in "Insert" as far as I remember.

Once you've added it, you should access its properties (right-click and choose "Properties"). You should be looking for a list property (I think it's called "Items") and add each item on a new line. To do all of this, you need to be in Design Mode.
Once that is done, look for the "LinkedCell" property and enter the cell in which the value should appear.
You can also change its style so you can't type in it, but only choose from the list. Property called "DropDownStyle" or something along those lines.

Disable Design Mode and voila, you've got a drop-down box!
