i just downloaded a virus

look at the thread above but obviously dont do what i did and click run on the applet, i need someone to help me get rid of this pleeease i have no idea about this stuff

 

Download and run > Malwarebytes

You could also try scan your computer with your Anti Virus.

Malwarebytes gets rid of problems. What type of virus did you download?

 

I'm guessing the link was to a Java Drive-By, but it's dead so i cant be for sure.

If it was a Java Drive-By 90% chance he just got himself a FUD RAT ( Fully undetectable Remote Administrator Tool ). They're quite a thing to get rid of.

The best thing you can possibly do is restore your system to the closest time BEFORE you downloaded the virus. That would probably be the way with the least amount of hassle as well. You should be able to find the button to restore your system to certain save points when you boot up.

Restore your computer to like , yesterday.

 

Do a full virus scan using Malwarebytes then do a system recovery to 1-2 days before you downloaded the virus. Once you have restored your PC run a quick virus check (not full) to guarantee whatever you downloaded is now gone.

 

or back up ur files, and reformat hard drive

 

Full scans with Spybot S&D and Malware Bytes.

 

i did a full scan with malwarebytes and it found nothing

might be because i deleted the file, i was talking to some1 yesterday who helped me get rid of it but all i did was delete a file in safe mode.. however the scans find nothing so hopefully its gone

 

To ere on the safe side, I suggest you to also restore your system to a state before the time you got the virus.

 

System restore won't help at all, but I'm pretty sure if malwarebytes doesn't find anything and he hasn't been hacked, he's probably fine.

All system restore does is set back your settings on windows.

 

Yeah I ran malwarebytes multiple times and got nothing and nothing weird happened today so hopefullyyyy its gone learnt my lesson

 

The first time you ran it, did it show any infected files?
If yes, they should be deleted.
If no, he didnt find any viruses so the virus obviously is not deleted.
