Im just SICK of this !

You can't expect someone to join the forums and immediately understand how everything works right off the bat.


Granted, before you try to make a purchase or sale you should learn the ways, but I don't really trust anyone (even OMM/MM) well enough yet to hand them my hard earned money with nothing in return in HOPES that all works well.


Until someone learns the ropes, Don't bash them for not understanding or wanting to use a OMM. Just let them figure things out, weather or not they get scammed is on them, but you should all be smart enough by now not to get scammed.

 

This ' RULE ' you suggest is just idiotic. No, disrespect of you, but quite frankly. You need to learn to put yourself in those individuals which just joined perspective and their shoes.

Instead of continuing looking at it from your personal perspective and shoes. You must weigh all options before specifying something, or making a suggestion, that is what differs people from each other.

I remember the first day I joined, you know what? That VERY day I had a vouch from Clashfan, Verts, N4N0, and a few others. Even was able to sell an account for 105$ the very same day.

Just because an individual just joined their post count nor join date, nor even activity determine an individuals personal reason or should be a reason for an individual such as yourself to instantly assume their a scammer prior to even talking to them.

I'm not going to say ' Go first to the first newcomer!!! '

What I am saying is, no one not even a newcomer deserves to be treated ANY different from anyone else, unless they have proven to be treated differently.

Everyone being treated equal is what makes things run smooth. I understand that individuals perspectives within this community will say or state that there is no one treated equally, but that is just simply out of despite, and jealousy.

Now, before making anymore suggestions or statements based on what may be written in this thread, or even thought of. Please, out weigh all options and think about the process in a OVERALL manner and then if found necessary explain into full detail.

Also.. Actions, and going for things whether failure or success is what makes people excel, not the ones which sit back and do nothing because of THEIR OWN PERSONAL PERSPECTIVES. Just learn things, move on, and if you feel something may be going wrong for instance you being possibly scammed. Then don't instantly call an individual a scammer.. Just state what you believe they should do to fulfill your insecurities to help the transaction to be complete, if they refuse.. Then stop? Continue why? " BECAUSE I REALLY NEED IT SOLD!@!@ " Oh, well.. If you really want it sold that bad for a reason, or bought for a reason, then you would be patient enough to wait until you know it will be completely successful. Simple..

You can't force highly trusted buyers to pay OMM fees, because they can easily buy from people that go first to them without having to pay extra.

And saying they have to because they can afford it is just like saying they have to pay you 50$ extra because they can afford it...

 

What are you talking about? The use of OMM/MM is the satisfaction and helpfulness of relief in insecurities which help the trades go through.

Most human beings have an almost infinite capacity for taking things for granted. Simple as that..

 

Definatley agree, although im still classed as a new user due to my post count and semi join date, i feel that this rule is a brilliant rule. Only recently i tried to trade my WoW acc to a user who would not use an official MM and would not go first and i stupidly accepted it since the guy was an Un-official MM but with over $1,000 traded and 20+ vouches. What happens, i give him my details and he doesnt reply after. xD. Although got to give it to the guy the excuse he gave me 1 week later after i recovered my acc and he was banned from here is hillarious. I realy like this rule and i think it should be implemented straight away.

You don't penalize newcomers. However, experienced mods like FireZ can easily distinguish a cautious newbie from an experienced ban evader who is obviously setting up a scam. People showing up with an extremely recent join-date, and who seem to be very experienced traders tend to set off alarms. A little research on them usually turns up a couple accusations as well.

It's usually pretty obvious. Get rid of them. This is a forum, not a US court of law. You can be banned here for burden of proof.

 

Yeah this is insanely frustrating, when I opened up my goldshop I got tons of IM's from people trying to buy my entire stock (which was like 1.2b) for relatively high prices (I was selling for .95c/m, they were offering $1.25/m)

They wanted me to go first and they didn't want to use an OMM. I just laughed.

 

What im starting to hate is all the paypal scams lately...

 

It's really annoying when a member that's joined like 2 months ago adds me on msn and wants to buy 4m refuses to go first even though ive got 20 vouches for selling gold, been a member for nearly 3 years and then refuses to use a free mm -.- if i had payed for an omm i would have lost money

I do think, once a member refuses to use an OMM should get a TWC

I hate people coming on with like under 100 posts and acting like they're the shit and like they earned the respect to go first by posting 50 comments worth of spam.. I don't like the way your rule is worded, but something like that would be a good idea... support

 

Yeah, I think I passed the newcomer mark, but so far I tried to make process to a trade and he declined using an OMM. He said his friend would MM. Hopefully I can earn respect the right way.

 

That's just flat out stupid reasoning. There's a lot of legit people who are honestly paranoid about getting scammed online. Simply because they don't want to use a third party doesn't mean they should be banned. You honestly wonder why some people think you're ban happy?

You're telling me if we set up a trade and I refused to use an OMM that you have the right to ban me? No, no you don't. What ever happened to actually proving someone is a scammer before they're banned?

 

Please read before posting, I never endorsed banning simply for OMM refusal. There has to be more to it then just that, and investigations are done before wildly swinging the hammer anyways.

 

i'll have to agree with this. sometimes there are just threads you look at and it has scammer written all over it. Although we can't report for scamming based on suspicious, there's nothing that says mods can't ban on suspicion.

 

I vote, yes that it should be a rule as most of these 'legit' people who say this in their thread are actually scammers. This will reduce the amount of scammers but not by much.
