Beware - I have found a virus - Only downloaded Rsbot/epicbot.

Hi, just a word of warning to everyone. I downloaded the bots about a week ago. I have downloaded nothing else. Today, I restarted my computer and a program with randomized letters was wanting access to the internet. (enfgigning.exe) I then decided to investigate it further. It was located in:

C:\Documents and Settings\NAME\Application Data

When I looked into the file itself, it said it was created today. However, I did not download ANYTHING today. I believe RSBots has dropped a delayed trojan onto me.

Please, check the location I mentioned above. It was in a folder, with the same name as the .exe. If you do not see Application Data go to Tools, and allow hidden folders to be seen.

 

This is why I no longer use free bots. Paid bots are the way to go.

 

This is what you get, with bots, you get what you pay for. although it sucks that people have gotten so greedy because of the amout of money they can make

edit: only epicbot stores its information in appdata, the only thing rsbot.org stores in appdata is a text file with account names and passes

 

Yeah man, stay away from the free bots. before limit was removed they had no motivation for scamming, now theres a thousand more reasons for it...

I only have two things on my download list, in the past month. Only 3/12 virus scanners picked it up. Yes, its powerbot.

 

Which is why you don't download a free bot.

 

You get what you pay for. You paid $0 to bot, what did you expect?
I suggest investing in paid bots next time if you want to keep your pixels in this day and age.

 

Free bots are always going to have problems. Either the script is not too good or the client itself gives viruses or keylogs your account. It is always better to buy paid bots for a few couple bucks which are pretty good and which you can rely on.
