A guide to outrun or tank DDoS attacks

Hello and welcome to my fifth guide. This guide will explain how to dodge DDoS attacks and how to detect if one is being sent at you.

One of the major problems with going into a random Ventrilo server is the thought that they will get your IP and DDoS you for fun. Well now I will tell you a few things you can do to 100% prevent this. First off you should download hotspot shield here: http://hotspotshield.com/ Once here you should see a screen that looks like this:

Once you have downloaded it you find where you downloaded it and open/run it. Once you start to run it you should see this:

Shortly after it gets to that screen it should come to this:

After it is here you are now connected to hotspot shield. Hotspot shield disguises your real IP address and shows them a fake one (from Wisconsin). You can now connect freely to any Ventrilo server or any website and hide your IP address.

Ok well oh no I forgot to turn on hotspot shield so they already have my IP address!

No fear, next I will show you how to “throw up your anti-DDoS shield”. First off you should download peer guardian from here:
    http://phoenixlabs.org/pg2/

Once you have downloaded Peer Guardian you should install it. Now, so they have your IP and they say they are going to DDoS you (Peer guardian only is helpful when you are being DDoSed or when you know a DDoS is coming). Now what you do is close out of EVERYTHING you are running, to do this go to your task manager then processes and close out of your applications (don’t be dumb and close explorer.exe etc.). Once you have closed everything open up peer guardian and you should see maybe 1 or 2 things. In my picture I have a few because I didn’t feel like closing out of everything I was running.

Now just sit and stare at this screen. If you see any incoming connections just right click them and block them permanently. Keep doing this for a few minutes or until your lag is gone. Congratulations you have now successfully “tanked” a DDoS.

Now anyone who says this guide is short is right. Anyone who says this guide is bad because it’s short is mistaken. This is one of the only guides written to actually help people. This guide covers what is not common knowledge. Unlike a lot of other guides (I don’t need to name any).

If you're behind a router you won't see anything from a ddos in peerguardian. All you'll see is connections made by your computer.

Hardwire doesn't make sense in your context.

I have a feeling you don't know what you're talking about.

That's not the same thing as hardwiring.

Yes but it is the phrase I've always used since I started learning about dosing and shit like that. I guess it's just a habit.

How can you rate the guide if you have no clue what it is about? The guide could be completely useless.
