    How to improve your typing!

    Introduction

With more and more jobs requiring applicants to have a decent typing speed, it is essential that people know how to properly. Not only will it reduce your time on the computer considerably, it will also help you in day to day things such as homework & social networking.

    Step 1

Learn to type the proper way, it is must faster than typing with one or two fingers. Your right hand should be home to J,K,L and A,S,D,F for your left hand.

    Step 2

Memorize where all the keys are. It'll increase your speed drastically if you can do this. A helpful tip is to put a piece of paper (allow room for your fingers) over your keyboard while typing.

    Step 3

Don't look at your keyboard! Similar to step 2, you will type much faster without looking at your keyboard. As well with being able to type faster, it'll also allow you to catch spelling mistakes much more efficiently.

    Step 4

When you are retyping a mistake, try not to type the whole word over again. Try to quickly find where you made the mistake and correct the letter(s).

Example: Let's say you try to spell "Difficult" but you typed it as "Dificult". Instead of typing Difficult all over again, just add in the extra f.

    Step 5

Try to type in a good posture that makes you comfortable (sitting straight up).

    Step 6

PRACTICE. As the old saying goes, practice makes perfect. Improving your typing speed won't happen over night.

    Hope this helps :)

    How to improve your typing!

Short guide, but I suppose it will help most users. The picture was a great reference, although it was not made by you :p rest is pretty self explanatory. Nice guide for beginners who still touch type however. 6/10

Short and sweet, all it needs to be. Very good guide and easy for beginners to understand, it doesn't need any more pictures as there's very little to explain, I liked it, 9/10.

    How to improve your typing!

i got taught to type this way and got pretty good at it, i really recommend trying to type without looking for your keyboard which will allow you to memorize the keyboard. i personally type "pecking" with 2 fingers but because if have been using my computer for years and memorized the keyboard i can type 1 word/second according to an online typing test

    How to improve your typing!

This is a fine guide but I feel that most of the tips are pretty intuitive (memorize where the keys are). Also, when I'm typing and I make a mistake, it's a lot quicker for me to just hold down the backspace key and release when I delete the typo, then correct it, rather than to fumble for the mouse, click the exact spot, delete, retype, and hit the end key to go back to where I was. Maybe you could edit that bit of advice to say that you should only do it for longer words

    How to improve your typing!

wel i got put on a typing course by my mom when i was 10, with a typwriter that had stickers on it with all sorts of colours :) (so we couldn't see the letters on it)
different colours for each finger ;)
This was by FAR the most usefull class i've ever had :D
I can now type aprox 300 correct letters a min!
So if there are any mummys/daddys out there with young kids then put them on a typing course as soon as possible! it'll help them out a LOT!
