RuneScape Mods & Admins.

This is concerning the Verified Programs section in the RuneScape 2 Cheating sub-forum.
This section needs to be cleaned, ie. Remove all the threads that now contain outdated programs & programs that no longer work.

Also you should ammend one of the posting rules in this section, there is a rule in the php coding (or whatever vbulletin uses). That the OP can't edit there own post. Yes i know the reason you have done this is so that, once verified the OP can't then change the link to something of malicious content.
But if people want to, they can just as easily upload the malicious file and rename it to the old file name, OR just make it download a malicious file silently while you run the program (this evades 99% of virus scanners).
With this current posting rule in place, it makes it a pain for OP's to update their threads with newer download links and features list etc.

tldr;
Clean the RS2 Verified section & apply normal thread editing rules.

Gohan, I'll take a look at the whole section tonight and do the weeding.

 

One of a few sections that need to be cleared. Support. For example I feel the personal advice and assistant forum should be cleared as something has been resolved or answerd.

Wow, almost everything was dead. I obviously don't have AdminCP, so I can't edit the posting rules of the thread, but the whole forum is cleaned now at least.

OP Editing does nothing. You do not have to change the link to change the file.

 

Thanks kero, but not all of them were dead. Flaming idiots quantum kit was alive just the first post link was dead because he couldnt edit his original post to change it

Still good job tho, now at least everything works there

Definitely agree, nothing I hate more than trying to get something to run when it's outdated, could save me a lot of frustration if it wasn't there in the first place. Good post.

 

I had a feeling that at least one wasn't really dead but just an inactive hosting site link. They're all in archives, and I can move any back upon request.


Anyhow, for the quantum kit... Any idea what the current download link is? I'll re-add the post and edit the good link back in.

As for the problem with OP not being able to edit the post, maybe we can just have the person a report the thread for a mod to edit it, similar to editing thread titles.

 

Why don't you just delete anything over a given amount of days old (30 for example) and make all programs be verified (again) to be (re-)added.
