Gambling addiction

Hello dear Sythe community, am I the only one having a gambling problem? Let me tell you my story. I started with $5k in sports betting here and there. Everything was going well; I managed to build it up to $50k and I was very happy! That's when I decided to bet a maximum of $10k per day and withdraw any surplus at the end of each day. So if I ended with $17k, I withdrew $7k and started again the next day with $10k! I did this for a week, day after day profit, and I reached $350k. I felt like a god, invincible! I treated friends to dinners, we were 3 but I ordered for 6 people, jokingly saying "boys, this one's on me!" I gave a $300 tip to the server. I was already thinking of buying a new car around $150k, a Rolex, etc. I was completely disconnected!

Until one day... I lost $10k and refused to end the day in the negative. So I countered with a $50k bet... lost. Then $100k, lost... until there was nothing left. It happened so quickly... Today, if I had left that money in a wallet, it would be worth $650k... Ethereum had risen a lot. So I tried to recover my losses with my bank money... without success. I took out high-interest loans to play with... a serious mistake that should never be made! But gambling makes you crazy, and I did it. Lost, lost, lost. I didn't even have money for groceries, my credit card was maxed out, etc. So I had to tell my parents... they weren't proud, especially since this had happened to me twice before! I lost my girlfriend because of this. Last week, I relapsed again; I sold my car to pay off one of the credit cards. And now today, I'm back at it, maxing out my credit card and burning through all my money. It all started because of an offer I was trying to complete on a task site, which made me want to bet and eventually lose everything.

This addiction will always be with me, I'll always be walking on a tightrope. For now, my parents don't know, but soon they'll find out when they see my bank account. In the meantime, I'll do what I can to distract myself: biking, running, and hitting the gym. Thanks for reading, I just needed to get this out. I have heard of gambling addictions but this might take the cake on one of the worst.


My advice is to fight the urge to gamble, as hard as it may seem. It sounds like it's destroying your life honestly.


You can do this friend, and also gym is a good hobby to break that habit. Surround yourself into Fitness more and more and it will continue to help you.

Gambling can be addressed by understanding the root cause: the overvaluation or worship of money. Many people gamble because they believe that winning money will bring them happiness. However, once you realize that true happiness doesn't come from money, you can break free from the urge to gamble. This realization will make you wonder why you ever gambled in the first place.

 

I'd seek out some profession help. You may have an obsessive compulsive disorder.

 

Seek help or just cold turkey the gambling habit.. Nothing good comes out of it if you dont know when to stop...

 

100% Seek help, Gambling is one of the worst addictions!

You should code yourself to never take out loans because owing money is a completely different scenario

Personally from my experience, I have never won anything like you've won before but from what I've read you're Incredibly lucky! You should of took the winnings and ran but we all are capable of making mistakes in the heat of the moment and going back to things we shouldn't, Keep your head up my friend, Keep distracting yourself with things and I hope everything turns out well for you <3

Obviously nobody can force you not to gamble but I guess it's always good to have a friend nearby who can tell you to Stop when you've spent or won a certain amount, Always remember this! The casino is not your friend & They will always win if you don't know when to quit
