i think i got a phising email from fake runescape, can anyone verify?

im guessing this is a phising attemppt, since its in my junk folder and i never made any runescape accs from this email


found ip source of email using whatsmyipaddress.com

 

yep, they would never send u an email so that you login to 'verify' anything

 

i figured how they are phishing


the website links looks authentic, has https, and whole link is valid.

the way they wrote email is valid

BUT they sent from Jagex LTD not Jagex Ltd

anyone have an ip or mail tracker.

i wanna hunt this phisher down

They spelled verify "verrify" in one instance. Definitely a phisher.

 

Got the exact same thing, shame they send emails to an email address that I don't use for Runescape.

 

Yes, currently there is phishing links going around that are @jagex.com but when you click the link it's like runescpe.com not runescape.com. Just best not to click any links from anything in junk folder, and always triple check the link in the window.

Also alot of people are getting e-mails saying they received a Real world trading ban from jagex, these are the biggest ones going around right now. I've had a few accounts banned and never got a e-mail saying I got banned.

That whole paragraph is a load of junk. They can send from Jaged Ltd as well, I've got about 12 from that on my MSN already. You really have no idea what a proxy is and generally they use a mass email sender from a certain address (Webclient). Even if you get their real IP then the best you could get is probably do is get his current city or state.

 

It is nicely done, i wonder how much $$ they hacked

 

I've been getting these for weeks now, they will also send you "Account Infraction" emails, don't be fooled.

 

Never click on anything they ask you via email.
If you wana verify, type then login to the official runescape site, not through some email or internet link.

 

It's fake, and poorly done.

They misspelled "verify" and they forgot to space after periods a few times.

The first sentence isn't professional at all, and you wouldn't find a poorly worded paragraph like that from a company as big as them.
