What do you hate/dislike about your job?

Let's face it.. Nobody has a perfect job. You might be one of the rare few that love your job, but there is AT LEAST one thing that you could change, if given a chance. So what is it?

For me, it's the customers. I work at Subway, in the ghetto. Literally, it's in the absolute worst part of town. It's so bad, that 15 minutes into my training, I was being instructed what to do when we get robbed. Not IF we get robbed, but WHEN we get robbed. Very encouraging first day of work, lemme tell you.

Let me see how I can put this without being racist.. Due to this being a bad neighborhood, the people here aren't exactly the brightest crayons in the box. These people are without a doubt the most uneducated, idiotic, ignorant, rude, selfish assholes I've ever seen.

There's nothing like having someone walk in and ask "How much is a 5 dollar footlong?" (This happens at least once a week, without fail). Or someone asks "How big is the footlong?". The ignorance/lack of intelligence wouldn't be so bad, if they weren't so rude. These people really take the saying "The customer is always right" to the heart. EVERYTHING is your fault, no matter what. Customer doesn't know what they want on the sandwich? That makes you an asshole. The customer is trying to use a coupon that expired months ago, plus trying to combine it with two other discounts? You're a racist douche for not doing that.

I've literally had someone complain over 20 cents. The price for a small meal was wrong in the computer, it was 20 cents short. It was finally fixed one day, and the next day this guy came in to eat. He looked at his receipt, and DEMMANDED to speak with the manager, and would not budge until he got his 20 cents back, even though the price on the receipt is the same as on the menu.

Alright, I could go on all day about work, but I'll stop it here. To be honest, reading this topic over, it doesn't seem like work is very bad at all.. But I guess that's just me and my lack of eloquence with words. It's bad, trust me. Just imagine the stereotypical person that lives in the ghetto, and multiply their bad traits by 10. Now try and put up with hundreds of them in a day. Yup.

So go ahead, and rant about your job .

 

I work at Ruby Tuesday.

Yeah it's not that bad, actually it's a pretty decent job BUT...

God damn everyone I work with is so negative that it makes me hate every second that I'm at that restaurant. Pretty much there are the servers who are mostly hot white girls and then there are the cooks who are mostly black guys who always pull the race card. And I'm the expo, so I'm right in the middle of that shit. The servers always come up to me and start complaining about some bullshit like how their bf is a douche or some other little thing that just ruins their perfect life, and the cooks hate their life because they're 30-50 years old and still making 9.50/hr so they try to take it out on everyone else.

I liked the job at first because it was easy and I would probably still like it if the people weren't so negative all the time. But I think I'm going to quit it soon and become a delivery driver or something where I don't have to be surrounded by dumb asses all the time lol.

 

I'm a nightfiller at Foodland which is a supermarket.

Basically just store the shelves etc.

I don't dislike anything about it really.

I look at it this way - In todays society you need money to have fun with most things. Especially my life style, alcho + petrol money and clothes.

So work isn't fun, but to be able to have fun in life you need money. Work funds this for us and gives us money for really whatever we desire.

I dont work anymore...i just go to my job and dick around for 5-10 hours. I dont let people get to me anymore, i usually am just ignorant back at them. I've learned to mirror the assholes, and be nice to the people who are nice back

 

I work at a supermarket.

My supervisor is a complete retard who constantly finds bullshit ways to call me out. That's really all, I'm just glad that I have a job.

then you get the other days when some retard who has worked there for like 5 months and still dosent know how to do anything its so annoying

 

I work at Big Y which is a fairly big grocery chain in New England.

I used to absolutely detest my job. I worked upfront at the registers with all the whores of my high school and all of the ignorant douche bags and was supervised by a woman that just would not stop hiring new people even though we didn't need any. I worked up there for about a year and a half which was way too fucking long to keep hating everybody you come in contact with daily. I decided I either needed to quit and get a new job or transfer departments and not be under the jurisdiction of my old manager. So I talked to the manager of our seafood department and left the next week without telling anybody and now the entire front end hates me because I'm not there to clean up after everybody fucks up.

 

I hate when I expect to be done for the day, and I get called to do more.

 

I'm a firefighter, I love my job. There's a saying that goes "If you love what you do, you never work a day in your life."

I think the main problem is that people settle down for jobs instead of trying to get their best. I won't be a firefighter for long, seeing as I want to become a United State Marine. Oorah!
