what do you guys think about the nazi's hiring IBM to track all the people in all of their concentration camps?

How do you feel about this company having used the holocaust as a way to make a profit?

can you think of any other companies that did the same? (ford)

I guess you can compare it to companies profiting off the war.
Halliburton has profited over 15 billion from the war alone.

It just further reinforces the fact that a business if primarily about money. In business class at school, we learn that businesses are now not solely in it for the money, however if you ask any small business owner, most will answer, "for money."

I'm more interested to know who knocked back the Nazi's deal.

That is nothing, look at companies that broker and produce actual weapons that make billions of dollars.

That said, I don't negate IBM's involvement and they should be very responsible for their actions/decisions.

First off, if a very powerful government/group of people who weren't afraid of committing genocide to millions of people told you to do something for them, would you HONESTLY say no? They had a very powerful military and could easily kill you if you said no.

Also, there was clearly a LOT of money involved, and if the Nazis ended up winning the war/taking the world, you'd end up on good side of them for helping them out and become extremely rich in the process.

They didn't tell them to do anything, it was pure business.

Companies and people have made profit off of others misfortunes since the dawn of time. Just look at the Rothschild's. They made the majority of their wealth in the 17th and 18th century by putting their already huge amount of money and gold behind specific European countries in time of war. Sometimes, they would even sponsor both sides of the war knowing that the loser would not have the means to repay such a loan. There are no morals when it comes to money and I'm sure you've all heard the saying that money is the root of all evil.

The truth is, everyone is out looking for a quick buck, even major corporations like IBM.
