oh shit. i fell for the phish scam

hey guys. well im a dumbass. only lost like 3m tho lol. what do i do to prevent it again tho? i changed my password like 8 times and set new recovery questions but they keep comming back.

 

Start out by not typing in your password in risky sites. Always phishers.

Most likely means they installed a keylogger on your computer and keep getting the new passwords you make. Do virus scans etc

But if you want to avoid them getting your passwords via keylogger, use the on screen keyboard, to do so:

Click Start>Run> type osk

Then they can't tell what you typed in as your password

 

Scan your whole computer and remove all the trojans you've no doubt picked up somewhere. Should sort out your problem

 

If you haven't already, download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware - One of the best anti-virus/anti-malwares out there, not to mention it's free. Be sure to run a full system scan as well.

 

Phishers cant actually infect your computer unless you download something or open a Java Applet. Just change your password and make sure that you always read the address bar up the top of the page and check if it is runescape.com.

 

As already said, the phishers doesn't actually infect your computer. You may have picked up a keylogger from somewhere else. Either way, scan your computer and good luck getting your account back in order.

 

Agreed. You should 'Spraynwipe' your HDD.

 

download any anti virus, then scan get rid of them all, then you should be fine i guess. just scan again a few days later and see if your ok

 

If you downloaded anything to get phished.. then you probably have viruses along with it.. I highly reccomend getting that checked out asap >.>

I advise doing the following;
Download rkill.exe
Download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware
Restart computer run rkill.exe asap
Run quick scan Malwarebytes -Anti Malware
Repeat step four
Run full scan Malwarebytes Anti Malware

You should be safe to play again .

That sucks. You probably have a keylogger on your computer, they keep getting your new passwords. Try downloading a good anti-virus to remove all the trojans on your computer. Click here to access a thread which can list a bunch of good free anti-viruses. Good luck!

Just don't type your info on suspicous sites. Download AVG/Avast and virus scan your PC to be safe

 

Download MalwareBytes and HiJackThis.

Run Quick Scan on MalwareBytes, delete whats infected.

Run HiJackThis, put you log into this site (http://www.hijackthis.de/) to see whats wrong, then go into the list and delete em.
