Well i bought 90m yesterday, standard price. did dealings over msn, then sent that payment via PP. So i get an email from jagex saying I've had a major macroing offense i followed the link to look at it (checked jagex's email to make sure it wasn't phishy') and i couldn't log in, i thought it was sus so i recovered my account. Except my only problem was i was about to go out and couldn't xfer off my gold/items.

I come back today with nothing.
just wondering what could of possibly happened?

Basically you were linked to a fake RuneScape website that looks very similar to the real one and when you entered your username/password, you gave it to whoever made that site.

 

it was a fake website and you entered your information into it, which means your information went to the owneer of the fake site!

 

A fake site that looks like actual RuneScape but when you enter your info it goes to someone else and they hack your account. Make sure you check the URL, and also Jagex won't send you suspicious e-mails, have fun with no cash

 

I couldnt of been phished, because when i recovered my account i got that code sent to my email from the same address.

 

No you didn't. It's possible to mask an email address to make it look legit.

Jagex wouldn't email you telling you that you have received an offense. The second email you received was probably from the same site.

Jagex will NEVER, EVER send you an email regarding bans or offenses on your account.

 

dude its fake if you hover of the link it will look ligit till it spells jagex wrong or the one i got was jagexserviees LOL so they make it with very very few diffrences so when you look at it in your top bar you dont realize aka someone just got a FREE 90m off you which sucks but there has been warnings every about this subject

 

Also, never take the email address shown as a sign of its legitimacy. Before logging in to the Runescape website make sure the URL you were lead to is correct.

 

Like everyone said, you got phished. This emails been attacking Sythe users and you just happened to be one of them. You should have checked the URL before proceeding and staying aware of the Sythe Announcements. Many threads were made alerting people. Also, JaGeX never sends messages through emails, they send it through the message system they have in-game. There's nothing to do now but learn from the mistake.
