Sythe Official Competitions

Well, now that Sythe is making an income from gold donations, I thought about having Sythe official competitions.

What if a small percentage of Plznate's donations went towards a competition fund, and there would be a prize for winning a competition. By competition, I mean like a competition on Runescape or World of Warcraft.

How about a duelling competition? Like once a month people sign up to duel. Someone generates a bracket (example: http://challonge.com/tournament/bracket_generator?ref=AITDEVXJNN), and then the people duel and tell us the results (print screen the winning screen).

We move them on, and they battle the next people. The person who wins could get a prize. Obviously the higher levels would win, but we could match them up to be more fair, so lower levels with lower levels, etc. Or have two separate duels, one for like combats 100+, one for below.

I also suggest a rank for the competition winner, but they only keep it for a month, until the next competition happens, where the new winner gets it.

I wouldn't have competitions for people to get the most exp as it will just be a test to see who can bot the longest lol, maybe like drop parts/party petes room would be pretty cool

 

Eh would just be the one who could suicide the longest wins. This idea would work if we weren't on forums that promoted botting .

I think competitions in games unrelated to the ones that these forums are about, like poker or chess would be good. I believe FireZ was interested in setting that up.

 

Duel arena or poker tourneys would be pretty fun .. skill comps would be fun too, but people would just end up botting the entire time lol

 

With the amount of people that would enter, i imagine it wouldn't really be manageable.

As for the competitions, it would probably have to be something that could souly be done on the Forum, because that would make it a lot easier to regulate. I'm not quite sure what you could do, possibly Max hit or something, record it, post it on youtube, and then Embed it on the competition thread?

At the end of the competition Moderators would review the videos.

 

Yeah what about a staking tournament? We'd set it up like a normal tournament for anything else would be. Pare up two people, they battle, the winner goes on the battle the winner of another bracket.. Repeat.

Edit: If this idea is actually approved, I'd have no problem organizing it and making up the brackets and such for a staking tournament. We'd have to pair up users with combat skills that are relatively close to each other, but obviously the winner will be a higher level.

Maybe we could do this like once a month, and the winner gets a small prize plus a rank (no colored name, just a nice looking rank), but only keeps the rank for the month, and then the next winner gets it? I'd love to help organize this. I think it's a great idea.
