Something to Run my Bots on?

Hey guys. My mac-book is beginning to slow down after owning it for 3+ years now. It is no longer good for gaming. For now on I'm only going to be using my mac for class work, music, etc. I'm going to Best Buy to look at computers today. I need something that will be able to run just 1 bot. Not a VPS or anything of that matter. I'm not really a computer wiz though so I'm not sure what's best. I'm not looking to spend $1,000+ on a alienware processor or anything like that. I just want something that can run a simple rsbot.net client.

Here is the website I'll be looking to buy from: http://www.bestbuy.com/

I would gladly appreciate if someone could help find me something that would work for what I need.

    Thank you!

    Trinityy.

    P.S: Links appreciated. :)

If you are very serious about it, get something with a high processing rate. i7's are pretty good.

You could run multiple bots with those, also make sure you have enough RAM, those babies take up 450MB-1000MB (1Gig). They are RAM hogs.

You'll also want a good video card. I suggest looking in the gaming computers department.

I know you don't want to spend $1,000 on a PC. But it all depends on how many bots you're gonna have going. 1-2 can be handled on a higher end netbook (I do this myself, though I lag). If you want to run in the 3-6 range, I suggest going to http://www.newegg.com. They are reliable and cheap, the worst part about their site, is shipping.

If you would like to know, I use another additional old-school "tower" PC. I run 2-3 bots successfully on that.

My Macbook Pro (mid 2009) with 2.23ghz processor and 4gb dd3 runs 5 woodcutting bots on Powerbot and a Kminer. It will do 6+1 at a pinch.

New Pros came out Thursday with i5s and i7s. They scream.

However, building your own computer will give you better hardware/$, though stability etc will vary.

Also, it depends on the bot. Autofighter will take up more recourses than an alcher, for example.

Thats not really designed for just running a bot

    On-Topic: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834214023

Newegg is fantastic for buying anything that has to do with computers, amazingly cheap, legit, and good customer service.

You dont need much just too run 1 bot, and thats laptop will get others things done as well. It'll be able to run multiple bots. Its a good laptop for the price

I have a similar laptop. For some reason I can't even download the bot client. It says "Decompression Failed". I tried to use some Un-Zipping websites but had no luck.
