Forgot to create another one of these.
I was first on staff in 2009, but left for a couple of months in October 2010.
I was born and raised in Oshawa, Ontario.
I'm 18 years old; turning 19 (woooooooo drinking age) this year.
I help run a concert venue, I handle booking, promotion, and finance. I currently attend night school for my final high school credit, I am hoping to go to college in the fall.
I've been playing guitar for 3 years, I listen to music religiously. My tastes vary widely but I'm really into punk and ska. I play in a band but we're going through a minor hiatus at the moment..
As far as religious views go, I'm agnostic. I don't doubt the presence of a deity, but I'll believe it when I see it. For politics, I'm fairly liberal. I support change and human rights.

Yeah I've never heard that before.. And primarily the off topic and staff sections. I'm a bit of a lurker. I don't play runescape anymore and seldom use the market, only really when I need to.

 

Weird, 19 is the drinking age where you're from?
Also, is night-school worth while? Are you taking it to catch up, and preperation for Uni?

 

Yeah, it's 19 in Ontario, as well as a few other provinces in Canada. And I'm taking it for my last high school credit I need before college.

You should add some things you like to do for fun, other than that, you seem pretty cool.

Also, I think he means that he was probably missing a high-school credit so he's taking the course to recover for it.

 

Precisely. And honestly my hobbies don't often stray from music, surfing the internet, recreational drug use, being with friends, and the occasional video game lol. I'm a boring person, I know.

How do you like Oshawa?

First time I was there I almost got stabbed walking down Nonquon to Mary street.

What's the name of the concert venue?

 

Interesting to see someone who knows a thing or two about Oshawa lol. Yeah nonquon isn't the best place.. I know a lot of people who live there. I've been pulled over by cops there many times just for walking, but I suppose that's probably a good thing. The venue is called The Gallows, it's run out of my good friend's apartment. We put on all ages DIY punk, ska, and alternative shows. It's actually on mary street hahaha, south of nonquon though. I like living here, I can get just about where ever I need to go by taking the bus, and Toronto is just a free 30 min train ride away (GO transit never checks for tickets haha)

 

I remember buying a ticket when I went to Toronto, and it was never checked. We spent the entire train ride walking from one end of the train to the other because they thought the people we were meeting were at the end, then walking all the way back to the other end when we found out they hadn't gotten on the train yet. Long fucking train.

Toronto subways are practically free too, I don't think I've seen one of the people manning them actually doing something other than sleeping/watching tv, but for 10 bucks for an all day pass, for like 2 or 3 adults and 5 or 6 children you can't really go wrong there either if you are with people.

I'm from a fairly small town, so I am envious of the DRT, except on Holidays, ha. Oh, and that one time I got on a "Special" bus route, which is just code for pretty much a school bus in this situation, and ended up by that (Catholic?) school that a kid got stabbed at. I was one of the first people on the bus, so the fact that every person who got on it was wearing a school uniform didn't seen obvious to me until about halfway through.

 

Dwyer on rossland? I knew the kid who got stabbed. Not extremely personally but I'd met him on a few occasions and he grew up with lots of my friends. Biggie was a great guy.

 

Was definitely Dwyer. I wasn't in Ontario during the stabbing, but when I told people about my misadventure, they all referred to it as the school that a kid got stabbed at.

 

Yeah it was a pretty big local tragedy, around the time it happened it was impossible to turn on the local news or go on facebook without hearing about it. I heard the guy who killed him is getting out of jail too, fucking bastard.

 

If you could redo your time at Sythe, what would you do differently?

 

Not get hacked on my first day of moderating, lol. Other than that no regrets.
