    Quick Account Purchase Question

So this person is selling me his Runescape account.

    We're gonna deal over Skype.

I'm willing to pay 60 M to him.

He said I could go on the account, check it out before I buy it.

There's no recoveries on it, but the e-mail is registered. He said he would delete the e-mail after the purchase.

Like, is there a way this can be done, without him recovering the account?

    Quick Account Purchase Question

Make him change/delete it before the trade. If he refuses then don't do the trade. He can easly recover it with the email.

It's off a site like craiglist but for Canadians (Kijiji).

How do we get around this e-mail thing then?

Email prefrences. Click i do not want to subscribe to jagex anymore. It says something like that. Then type in the email and then jagex will email a code to the email adress then just copy paste into the box.

    Quick Account Purchase Question

I got the account. E-mail wasn't set, same with questions.

    I changed the pw, registered/vertified the e-mail (no more code, it's a link:S)

    and set the recoveries.

Is there still anyway he can hack me back?

Yeah he has the original ip, that makes it so easy to recover.

    Quick Account Purchase Question

People don't realise HOW FUCKING EASY it is to recover accounts.

If he is the original owner, hell even if he's only owned the account for a few years, and he wants it back, you are fucked! I've recovered accounts 4 years old with a single membership pin and 1 password, no other details & even from a different country that the account was created in (jagex do check IP)

Even if you have his IP it won't help if he recovers the account, bottom line is he will find it 10x easier to recover than you, that is even if you have all the correct details.

I would have suggested OMM and to make sure the account is recovered to verify info before trade. Better than that I suggest NEVER to buy accounts unless it's a reputable seller, even then it's risky business. It's not unheard of to sell an account and recover it months/years later with higher levels and most probably a bigger cash stack.

Good luck none the less, post here when it gets recovered. :noworry: sorry

    Quick Account Purchase Question

Yeah in general I would never buy an account. If the original owner wants it back they could completely bs the entire recovery form and get it back, even not knowing any real details. The ip that the account is made under is the most important thing in recovering an account.

    Quick Account Purchase Question

Pretty useless though as the VAST majority of home connections have dynamic IP which either resets if the router is restarted or periodically. 1st password is always a good sign that you actually created the account

    Quick Account Purchase Question

And once the account is recovered the buyer is unable to recover at all, even with correct info. Jagex actually put in my check recovery status something to the effect of "You are not the original owner, stop attempting to recover." Not exact words but it was the same message.

I've been burned before so I've resorted to botting my own accounts if I want certain stats THAT bad. At least I know I am always in complete control of the account.

    Quick Account Purchase Question

+1 to that, I've botted both my own maxed turm and tank accs. The example above of the 4 year old acc I recovered took over 10 request, yet was granted nonetheless.

Don't do the trade at all. 99% chances are that he'll recover it, no matter how secure you make it.
