    Anyone had/have problems with Paypal?

I've been using Paypal for the majority of my transactions on Sythe (most of what I sell is through Player Auctions), but I've been hearing some bad things about Paypal lately.

Has anyone personally had any problems with Paypal being retarded with YOUR money? As in, freezing your entire account because of one chargeback/dispute, or completely closing your account down for nothing?

I've got a couple hundred in my Paypal account, and was going to wait till I had a few thousand before I drew up a check, but if this is true, then I might want to draw one up every week.

So what experience have you had with Paypal, both good or bad?

    Anyone had/have problems with Paypal?

Yup, its currently happening me. Got scammed 100m the other day by a guy i regularly done business with before, so i got him banned. Now he's filed a dispute against previous payments hes made to me and as a result, paypal has limited my whole account until its resolved. + they're asking for information about previous transactions with other people, asking for proof that i've delivered etc.

My advice, stay away from paypal, but if you do want to use it, only let very trusted members pay through it, and for very small amounts you can afford to lose.

Any questions, feel free to PM me.

Paypal is loving virtual users atm. They seem to be limitting any paypal they get the chance to. My advice, only trade with people you know for sure they won't chargeback on, and try to stay clear of "GIFT" payments, try using payment owed for the meantime. Player auctions should be safe as because they're both verified, and a company.

Thanks a lot for the advice guys. I could see, and heard, that Paypal was pretty shitty for sellers atm, but I had no idea it was this bad. It's ridiculous the tiny amount of security they have for virtual good sellers. I'm basically scared to accept anything over 5-10 dollars, as I feel like it'll get disputed the next day.

Sorry to hear your situation Redemptor. I'm hoping you get everything resolved, let me know what happens :).

RsProd - Does payment owed work basically the same way as a gift payment?

Vi3 - What was your problem?

    Anyone had/have problems with Paypal?

What's funny with paypal is that they don't seem to understand "virtual" items. They asked me to provide proof that I have delivered the items. Proofs such as fax, online tracking code...

Someone chargedback $130 on me, Paypal were idiots about it so I said you know what I'll just get my police to investigate it instead and well that's happening now ; )

Mate police can't investigate it, they have no concrete proof. First, they can't have access to Jagex trade logs since it's against runescape rules. Second there's no other possible proof so I mean just live with it, next time sell gp with player auction or WU
