    Jailbreaking iPods

What are the advantages/disadvantages ( other than a voided warranty) on jailbreaking iPods, and how would i go about doing it? It's a 32G iPod Touch

    Jailbreaking iPods

    Advantages:
    All apps free
Extensive selection of themes/wallpapers/etc from Cydia
    What more could you want?

    Disadvantages:
Can (minorly) slow down your iPod

Jailbreaking only voids your warranty if you're stupid enough to go to the Apple store for hardware support without restoring the iPod. If its a software issue, just restore the iPod. It does not make your iPod slower, some people are just stupid.

The method depends on the generation of the iPod. All new ipods (camera) can be jailbroken (untethered) with greenpois0n.

It's the one with the internal speakers, but not the camera.

That could be either a 2nd or 3rd gen. Can you use wallpapers and multitasking on it?

    Jailbreaking iPods

    Advantages-
    Any app for free
TONS of customization for your iPod
    Shitloads of other stuff

    Disadvantages -
100% nothing, if anyone tells you otherwise they are wrong!
It DOES NOT void your warranty unless you are mentally retarded,
    you can ALWAYS restore.
It is 100% impossible to completley brick(unfixable through software) an ipod
You CAN ALWAYS FIX SOFTWARE PROBLEMS

You get a ton of free apps out of it.
It does void your warranty, but you can always restore it and nobody could tell the difference. And anyways if your really afraid about it voiding the warranty just wait till it expires. Once it expires Apple doesn't give a shit about you, they even charge you if you call them with a question.

I have been through dozens of iPod's, so I don't even care anymore about the quality because they never last anyways, I would just go with what is cheapest because either way it is going to break...
