Working at a gas station

Well, I've worked at a gas station making cardboard pizzas since I turned 17, I'm 19 now. You wouldn't believe the shit you see day to day.

Some examples:

A guy comes in and purchases $20 worth of beer and shit, then pays for $2 gas in change..

Truck drivers that deliver gas saying: "How do I do this?" lol..

Customer walks in "20 dollars out there on the white car" there's 4+ white cars out there and your busy.

Drug deals all the time.

Ignorant people that call in a pizza.

People that do not understand the concept of PRE-PAY when purchasing gas. They get all pissed off cause they have to walk in.

People buying rolls of Lottery scratch off tickets. ($500+) and wining $300 or less.

Homeless people that beg for money, saying they are hungry (they always have a damn dog with them) after they get a few bucks they come in and buy a 40 oz beer..

Maybe this is a rant more or less..

 

Lol, i can see eye to eye with you here, i worked at a gas station for a year and a half myself. My personal favorite was someone who filled up and left without paying, then came back 10 mins later cause he felt guilty. lol

 

Yeah lol. It's so much fail when they drive away with the gas nozzle still in their gas tank..

 

Sounds like the most eventful job but the worst job at the same time. I wouldn't want to do it.

I worked at Walgreens in my town and I've seen some stupid shit too.

This one lady comes in and buys $35 worth of fake plastic jewelry, then buys a loaf of bread and some milk with a EBT (food stamps) card.

Theres also another lady that has a retarded son who's like 14 or 15 that always wears flip flops. The mom tries to do her shopping but she always has to take the kid with because I guess he's too retarded to leave at home alone. So she basically lets him wander around the store touching and moving everything while talking to himself. She's constantly telling him to stop embarrassing her and making a scene. Half the time she's in there buying something that her son broke. It's funny. idk

 

+1 for including the flip flop part haha.

On topic though, my dad owns a couple of stations and I am surprised by the ignorance of people.

This chick would come in 5 days a week buy cigarettes and buy about 80 cents worth of gas. One day she bought 23 cents. Honestly is that even worth the gas you waste idling your car at the station?

 

WTF thats not even a liter of gas, lmao

 

Well, pizza is easy to do. I just stand around, talk shit about how ignorant some customers are. And occasionally make some pizza, it can get busy at times but it's not a difficult job at all.

Being a cashier is TOTALLY different lol.

 

Yep, I've seen some of this shit. My dad owns a building downtown with a liquor store next to it. One time I saw some fucking huge ass black prostitute. Fuck I wish that memory would just disappear.

 

Hell yeah, I was a lifeguard at a public beach and I've seen some crazy stupid shit go down. Caught a couple banging each other under the pier once lmao.

 

I used to work at mcdonalds

one night two dudes came through the drive through.
they offered me a hit of their joint. i refused as mcdicks has cameras on employees at all times.
i ordered their food for them and told them to go to the next window.
20 mins later i see them parked in the parking lot.

2 cop cars surround their truck and arrest them for possession of marijuana.

apparently my manager had called the cops after he served them through the pick up window.

 

I honestly LOL'ed at every comment.

But I can see what you're going through.
My teacher said that when he was in college he used to work at a gas station and he said homeless people would always line up (Something about alcohol being illegal to buy between certain morning hours, don't know if it's just my town..) as early as they could and they would buy as much alcohol as they could afford.

 

I used to work at a stationary store.
This woman walks in and tells me that our fax machine must not have enough ink in it, because the person who received the fax she sent yesterday told her that the text had different shades of black.

Yeah, fax machines can teleport ink now
