Australian Hardcore/Metalcore <3

Hey All

Just discovered this 'music thread', and thought i'd put up some of the best music, in the world.

A few years ago, I was a kid who listened his day away with the likings of, The red hot chilli peppers, savage garden (embarrassing) etc.

Until I discovered, my country has (in my words) the best hardcore scene in the world.

So if your wanting something different, please, have a listen to a few of the bands I recommend

THE AMITY AFFLICTION - IN MY OPINION, AUSTRALIA'S BEST BAND AT CURRENT. IF YOUR A HATER OF THE 'SCREAMING SINGER' PLEASE GIVE THESE GUYS A GO. THEY HAVE 2 SINGERS, AND THE SECOND SINGER HAS A CLEAN VOICE, WHICH I WOULD DIE FOR - LISTEN TO - 'DR THUNDER OR YOUNGBLOODS'

Metalcore: Metalcore is a fusion genre combining various elements of extreme metal and hardcore punk. Metalcore is distinguished from other punk metal fusions by its emphasis on breakdowns, slower, intense passages conducive to moshing.

Australian Metalcore Bands (Famous)
1) The most famous, without a doubt is 'Parkway Drive' - Listen To - 'Romance Is Dead, or Carrion'
2) I Killed The Prom Queen - They broke up, late 2008, and split into bands such as, Bring me the horizon, Bury your dead, Confession and Deez Nuts - Listen To - 'Say Goodbye'

Hardcore Punk: Hardcore punk is an underground music genre that originated in the late 1970s, following the mainstream success of punk rock. Hardcore is generally faster, thicker, and heavier than earlier punk rock.

Australian Hardcore/Punk Bands (Famous)
1) Carpathian - Extremely Amazing, Hardcore Band - Listen To - 'Who the fuck taught you snaps or Cursed'
2) 50 Lions - This is the Parkway Drive singers Brothers band , over their career, their sound has changed alot - Listen To - 'Collect Win or Still Lost'

There's a few famous ones... But unknown bands are what I really love. Nothing better than 50-100 people throwing down, compared to 1000-2000 standing like statues.

Australias Unknown Must Hear Bands
1) Break Even - A Hardcore/Punk/Rock band from my home town ... seriously going places.
2) Mandalay Victory - A Post-Hardcore/Metalcore band, from my home town again .. if your against the 'screams' in these bands, this band here has a very amazing clean singer
3) Saviour - A Deathcore/Hardcore band, again from my town. I hate deathcore so much, but these guys put it together with a hardcore blend, and wow is it amazing
4) Word Up! - Byron Bay Hardcore band (Byron bay, is a small town on the east coast of Australia, which is pretty much known as the Hardcore city of Australia) Unfortunately these guys are breaking up in a few weeks

Hope you guys give some of these guys a listen ... if any of you have a good local hardcore/metal band, i'll gladly listen

 

Parkway drive is such a brilliant band.

Seen them, 8-9 times so far. But unfortunately, their new album, Deep Blue i really do hate

It's not a bad album, by any means, but 'Killing With A Smile' is the best album ever written.

 

I didn't enjoy deep blue too much either but hey, you can't expect a band to keep topping their already amazing work.

 

I know, i know. But they've just lost their old elements. Speaks/breakdowns/that classic parkway drive sound..

Mainstream does do that too bands though

 

I'd love to be from Australia, couldn't explain why..

http://deathcoreis-still-sexy.blogspot.com/ my friends deathcore blog, it's not particularly Australian but my friend/the admin "Poondizzler" is Australian and there's a lot of aussie bands on there.

BTW, NST Australia is a lot better than Soundwave, Soundwave is shit tbh.

I am 100%. Nothing compares to killing with a smile. Great album

 

I've seen these guys live, amazing Aussie band.
Also Sienna Skies are excellent, seen them too.
Confession, wasn't allowed to go because they played on a school night here. :/
In Hearts Wake, The Bride & Never See Tomorrow are also amazing.

I've got a few amazing local bands, I would mention but I really don't want to give away where I live.

 

Seeing Buried in Verona in a few weeks
Sienna Skies are amazing
Confession, seen way too many times, and sorry, but they are very horrible live.

If you haven't heard of these guys, your missing out.

Guess I didn't miss out on much with Confession then. And Buried in Verona are amazing live. Unless I was half deaf from standing next to the speaker for all the bands.

And youtubed them, quite good.

 

Parkway Drive is epic. listening to the amity affliction atm i like what i hear so far!

Amity are my favourite band by far, live... Breathtaking.

Their cleans, just do things for me hahaha.

If your not into the heavy scene, give 'GYROSCOPE' a go.
They are a Rock band (from my town) haha, and they are seriously a very impressive band. It's not rock as in AC/DC or anything, more of an indy influence. Try the songs - "What do i know about pain" or "some of the places i know"
