    Recovering Back A Sold Account...

    Ok,

If let's say I purchase an account through an approved MM from a seller. The seller agrees to provide me with an account that has:

    *No Recoveries Set
    *No Email Set
    *Password
*A Few Other Details (Previous Passes, etc)

There is still the possibility that the "Few Other Details" information would be false as well as possible past membership information that could be used to recover the account back, correct?

Granted, my own conclusion that I have come up with in buying an account would be a respectable forum such as this one, finding someone with a lot of vouchers, and having a phone conversation with them about the account beforehand...

What are fellow forum members' thoughts?

Usually when I buy an account I look to see if people have a lot of vouches yes. I never buy from newcomers. ever. Just not worth the risk.

I always go by this motto; "if it's too good to be true, than it probably is"

Yes. They will be able to recover the account 90% of the time for a good year or two. Some times even after that they can still recover it. I would suggest to only trade with very trusted members that are going to be on this site for a long time and have no intention of scamming. You could also exchange some irl information with the person so you can contact them if there is a problem. Having an OMM do a recovery check will help but I would seriously suggest calling or meeting them irl. You want to make a trade like this kind of personal so you can contact them later if needed (Like already stated.)

    Recovering Back A Sold Account...

i have recently lost my main tha ti got 98 RC on among other high skills combat 135 after 2 years of owning it. lost it right when free trade came out. i had 2 years of info on the account and i still cant get it back been trying for a month now. there is always a high chance that someone can get their account back just from recovering it from the original IP address.

^ I had an account that a rl friend gave to me. I tried changing the recovery questions and the account was locked. I filled in ALL the info for the account (passwords, last 4 of cc[ from my friend], billing address) and I still couldn't get the account unlocked. Had to have him submit a request from his computer so the account would be unlocked.

Even with a recovery test it can still be recovered. They can provide their current IP in the test but make up other fake details so that way they have the edge in recovering it back.

I had an account pass a recov test and it was still recov.

The original owner will always have access to recover the account, considering his ip is the same as the ip used to create the account.

There is nothing you can do to secure any bought account 100%.
