Question about Mage Boxing

Does defense level effect mage boxing?( Blood/shadow barrage w/no armor)

For example:

Player A
99 Magic
99 Constitution
99 Defense

Player B
99 Magic
99 Constitution
99 Defense

This "should" be a 50/50 fight. But what if one person were to have lower defense. For example
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Player A
99 Magic
99 Constitution
99 Defense

Player B
99 Magic
99 Constitution
80 Defense

Is this still a 50/50 fight or would Player A have an advantage?

I would like to do this as i am already 99 magic but im unsure if lower def would be a disadvantage to me. Hp really wouldn't matter as its just a number but having a substantial amount on me would matter.

 

It DOES have a little change in the fight, it's nothing huge. But it's always good to have.

Example:
I'm 89 hp, 99 mage, 75 def.
The other guy was 95hp, 1 def, 99 mage.
I won.

Another:
Other guy was 94 mage, 99 def, 99 hp.
He won.

So idk tbh, I think it DOES help a little.

I don't think it does.

 

Defence helps avoid attacks. For mage boxing however, it makes little difference. Because you are not wearing anything, the chance to hit is extremely high. Hit chance is very easy to calculate because the only factors that are taken into account is magic level, the spell, and your opponent's defence and magic. If you calculate it out, you'll see Defence does not make a significant difference.

"The Defence skill plays a role in Magic combat: Defence against spells is measured as 30% of the target's Defence level and 70% of their Magic level."

although i've mbed several kids and it seemed like the higher defense kids lost to me.

 

Defense does matter, but only a tiny bit. I'm 99 def and lost 4 stakes of 100m in a row to someone with 70 def.
In the long run though it does help (I'm up about 350m in a week or so)

if it was true, i could beat lvl 138's 50/50 on my lvl 73.

tell you the truth, i only did 4-5 lvl 125+'s and they all killed me.
I did win against a lvl 118 though, so I don't know - maybe not enough experiments to make a conclusion
