Thoughts on the increase of botting

Ever since the anouncnement of free-trade back in Januaury there has been a massive increase in botting for gold, skills, etc. Take Sorcress Garden for example; there are atleast 30-40 people constantly in every world as this is preddy much the easiest way to obtain gold via botting. It can be done on a massive scale.

Herb prices seem to be bouncing up and down, which is good for now but eventually prices will fall as we all know. But herbs are in great demand atm for prayer pots etc used in Pking. The same goes with the other aviable bots out there. I would like to get your opnion(s) on this subject.

Will Jagex further "macro detection" ? (I personally belive theres no such thing)

Will there be more rollbacks on accounts that are botted on?

Will gold prices rise after the Gp/hr falls for farmed GP?

TL;DR Just post your oppinion, thanks.

Jagex don't care about cheaters in this game anymore, the only reason they brought back free-trade and wildly was they needed a "boost" to get them back to were they were pre-07.

Exactly. I too believe that Jagex doesn't even care anymore about botting. All they want it $$$, which is why they brought free trade and wildy back.

Why are you so surprised? The point of any business is to make a profit, the bigger the better..

This also explains why they decided reinstate banned accounts for money.

Personally I could care less about cheaters as I do it myself sometimes.

I personally despise the kids who are buzzkills and report you for botting, just because THEY don't do it :).

I think Jagex just gave up, and are now focusing on "profiting" off this whole "RWT" situation.

    1. Ban account
    2. ???
    3. Offer the account for you to buy
    4. PROFIT

Im pretty sure jagex just gave up on trying to update there game clients to break bots.

And are now focusing on banning accounts. Now that they can make money from ban accounts, it will give them a even better motive to ban more and more accounts. Im pretty sure there will be a lot more ban accounts then ever.

And im sure that the Mass Ban will come back, with jagex gathering names of all the accounts they caught cheating. Then ban them on a single day to intimidate the cheating community.

To be honest I don't think woodcutting or fishing are botted on a large scale for profiting. Those items aren't getting hit as hard as the herbs.

It has gotten really bad, if you check willows on any f2p world, or even essence on any world there is just an insane amount of botters. Jagex seems to be making money though off of "reselling" accounts back so I don't think anything is going to change, atleast not for a while.
