Guilty concious after lure..

You feel guilty because what you did was wrong. How would you feel if someone did it to you? The fact that you do feel guilty is a good sign that there are still moral people here on sythe. All the people posting why its OK are just stupid. There just trying to reassure themselves that their wrong actions are actually fine. Sure, what you took were just pixels. But you know as well as I do that those "pixels" represent hours upon hours of hard work. Johnnycake719 it is nice to know that you take pride in scamming and you run a torso service... Imagine a world where everyone felt like they were superior to all other simply by living, and that the inferior people should do nothing but be exploited. These exact selfish attitudes are what let do the torture of six million Jews in WWII. So haters go ahead and offer your petty arguments to glorify scamming like Johnnycake719 but know in the back of your mind that wrong doings are wrong doings, regardless of the magnitude.

 

That's not uncommon. I'm guessing you've been lured/scammed before and can relate to the pain that he's going through.

I lured one time back in 08, found a dude (F2P) with full Rune (g) and like 3m cash on him, became friends with him, found out that he had bought it with weeks of mining iron in Al Karaid, and when I got him to the spot and he saw the cash and ran for it, my heart dropped.
My partner ended up killing the kid, taking his helm, and the cash. The kid sent one word to me "Why?" and I felt so bad, I took my half of the cut, explained it to him, gave him what I could and paid the rest back later. (Well tried to, but the kid wouldn't take it) We ended up becoming great friends even though he was only 13 or so, and I quit a short while after, I wish I knew if that kid still played.

 

This happened to me the first few times. It really only happens when the people are really talkative and for the most part nice... If someone is a pain in the ass to get in the wildy and is being a dick then they deserve to lose everything haha.

I felt bad today when I mage boxed this guy a measly 1M and he ran out of runes, I gave him his money back, he bought more runes, and we re-staked. I just met the guy, said nothing prior to "omg ran out of runes lmao" mid fight while I was losing, and felt bad.
I guess I'm too sympathetic.

 

I'm with you in some ways, if the kid is a cocky asshole or pisses me off. Than I wanna take his bank. If they guy is generally nice, I feel like an asshole after I take his items.

I haven't lured anyone yet, but a few months ago (before I decided to do legit black market stuff), I scammed a guy out of 20M (on Powerbot, not here). I ended up giving it back to him a few minutes later because I felt so bad about it.

 

In order to gain massive loot from a pk or a lure, someone else across the globe had to lose it >.>

 

How would if feel if someone stole your car or even 10$ from you? I know that real life shit but some kids live for runescape and to have something stolen from you makes you feel very vulnerable and pissed off. Especially if it has taken a while to get something.

At berserker helm.. just because he fell for a lure doesn't mean that he didn't make that stuff legit. Free trade has been gone for years hell the kid probably didn't even play when free trade was around before. So mistake made by him for falling for it but probably first time he has ever experienced something like that.

 

Its all fun and games until it happens to you. Poor guy you ruined his game. He will probably work hard to make that cash back. Put yourself in his shoes.

I will and never ever scam whether it be RS, or RL. It's just sad, it could be my dad maybe playing the game for fun, or maybe an eleven year old kid who has social issues, or maybe even a mom playing in her spare time who just started. It's not right, it's a form of stealing and i'm very angry sythe allows it.
If i were to ever lure/scam, i'd definitely give it back. We're all here to have fun, not steal and make other people's life miserable.

Same example used with Wake n Bake. Money's just paper, so why should I feel bad if I steal $100 off you? You'll get over it eventually. I mean, hey, it's not like you might have worked for that money. You probably just stole it off someone else, right?

I do, myself, remember my days when I was a noob but was i guess "Smarter" then the average joe and never fell for some idiotic lure or scam.

I personally, do feel horrid when I lure especially when the loot is shit ( granite plate d med, d leg kids LOL ) due to the fact that I started when I was in the 6th grade.

I try to think positively about the situation and do keep in mind that people do learn from their mistakes and hopefully these people who are dumb enough ( there are PLENTY ) to get lured don't "deserve" to be lured, but it's "coming to them".

All in all, feeling bad is a good thing and It's just personal preference when it comes to luring. I still lure.

This is a profoundly stupid comment. These are the events which lead to the holocaust, and your likening of them to scamming within an online game is, simply put, one of the stupidest remarks that I have ever read. I don't think that it would be an unreasonable suggestion that I ask of you to spend less time on runescape, and more time reading actual books which, just might, educate you, on rudimentary issues, to a satisfactory level.

 

Why not just give the guys stuff back and call it a day? Luring is sad, and just shows you cannot make money for your goddamn life. :X
