runescape sent me an email but i received no bans or anything..

Jagex will only message your mailbox on the Runescape.com site for this type of stuff.

you know as jagex preaches to you, they'll never email you. They'll use the message center instead.

 

I actually got an email from a site and it was the best phisher I've seen yet. It was ruinescape.com and I was like wtf. So I typed the username your a fagot and enterpasswordhere. Well from there it actually took me to a black marks thing and looked completely legit. I hope noone is falling for these. Never enter your password.

 

I got the same email but saying I was botting.

 

Do not click any link in that email, it's a phishing thread attempting to keylog or steal your account information. Jagex will only ever contact you about bans through your RS inbox.

 

Was it from a spoof email; like [email protected] or something?

 

Of course, it is a phisher. Check the sending email to be sure, but remember. "Jagex will never send you any emails asking for your account details."
Just to piss 'em off, I sometimes click on the phishing websites and then type in something offensive as the Username and Pass

 

It's a phish, depose of it and ignore the rest that you get like that. Jagex won't email you if you get banned, they will send your Runescape account a message.

yea i get them too. to an email i dont even have registered :l. with the return of free trade be carful my friends it is a jungle out there

 

I got the same email today, and it wasn't even an email account that is linked with one of my ruenscape accounts. Chances are that someone on sythe sees people buying/selling items or gold and sends the phishing scam to the email they have listed.

Dont click it, and you'll be fine

 

It is fake and you will notice that if you scroll over the link in your email or copy it into notepad.

fuck okay ive changed my pw, i dont think its a keylogg because i ran a full security scan

 

Unless you downloaded a file or opened a Java applet you should be good. If you want to be sure, download Mailwarebytes and scan your computer.

I Think my thread will be the exact thing you got as quite a few have got the same one recently.

always look at the URL on the page your on to make sure its green locked and the official runescape page and remember jagex will never ever send you an email such as this as they will send you an email to your runescape inbox
