SCAMS via Fake websites? and with @jagex.com e-mails!

Well I just received this message 2 hours ago:

    From: [email protected]

    Dear Player,

We regret to inform you that your account has received an infraction due to a Major Macroing offense. Please visit the appeal section under Account Management to view evidence of your infraction(s) and to appeal any infraction(s) that you feel were unjustified.

To view the evidence please click here: REMOVED FOR SAFETY REASONS 100% VIRUS - MOST LIKELY TROJAN OR KEY LOGGER!

Please note: Due to a recent bug in our infraction system, some accounts may have received a void infraction. The majority of void infractions have been removed but we cannot ensure that all infractions have been removed. We urge you to visit the appeal section to appeal any unjustified infractions received due to system errors.

    Many thanks, Jagex Ltd.

    I got 2 questions -
    1. How they get a @jagex.com domain when they do NOT own the jagex.com domain?
    2. Why aren't them like sued by jagex?

SCAMS via Fake websites? and with @jagex.com e-mails!

They've used an email spoofing program or website to fake the email address, and it's difficult for Jagex to track down these people anyway which is why they aren't being sued by Jagex.

I'd rather not since it might encourage you to do the same as the scammers are doing, but it won't be difficult to find one yourself if you used Google.

I got one too! I literally went on runescape and went into my offences, thank god!

    heres the email:
    Dear Runescape Player,

This is an automated email from Jagex Ltd., makers of RuneScape and FunOrb, sent because your account has been suspected of Real World Trading. "RWTing" is a serious issue, we at Jagex believe this has a detrimental effect on the Runescape community and so are fighting our hardest to ban accounts involved in these actions.

We therefore request that you validate & appeal your account by clicking on the link below.
    [Removed]

Alternatively, copy this security code into your Account Validation form: AAAIKWWK445522ksuu7

Your security code will expire at 03-mar-2011 23:02 (official forum time).

    Many thanks,

Ignore them. Jagex will only contact you through their in-game messaging center.
