Forum Scanner for Luring

I coded this program about a month ago to ease the painful task of searching for lure victims on the runescape forums. It searches for people that match the level criteria you specify, and returns their username, thread title, thread content, level...etc.

It is coded to use the smallest amount of http requests, as bandwith is usually the biggest bottleneck in it's performance. Once you start the scanner there is no way to end it besides closing the process. While scanning it may lag up your computer. But that's life with a poorly coded program that was never intended to be released to the public in the first place. It's coded in vb.net, on a windows XP machine. If it doesn't work on your computer then too bad.

The reason I'm releasing it is because my main with ~900m recently got banned, and i have to move on to other things in life.

Scan it before you run it. Scan it again on Virus total, jotti, and novirusthanks. Run it in a sandbox. Make sure it's safe.

Feel free to compare checksums, but each service already does that for you when you upload.

By all means, you should download VMware and run it inside a sandbox, which would be the smart thing to do regardless of what i say.

Also, this requires .net framework 4 to run. Make sure you have that or it will just give you errors.

 

Doesn't matter if scans say it's clean. Just means the keylogger is FUD

 

If i had made my keylogger FUD why would i submit it to a anti-virus honeypot such as VirusTotal and Jotti which distribute the sample to anti-virus companies? It will be flagged within a day.

Also, I've specifically stated that people should run it in a sandbox to verify that it's not malicious. I've provided more than a satisfactory amount of evidence, even a screenshot, suggesting that the file is clean, yet you have provided none suggesting the contrary.

If you are so comfortable accusing others of wrongdoings you should have no problem presenting something to support your claim. Until then you are just talking out of your ass.

Do you know what a "white hat" is? You have no evidence to suggest that i am using my knowledge for malicious reasons. I've been as open as possible about everything, and made more than a reasonable effort to show that this program is safe.

Report away. I have nothing to hide.

 

The only reason people do not trust you is the fact that so many phisher and java's have been posted here. You have to understand that almost all of the threads that start with some sort of help (but you must download this or go to this site) are usually scams. So instead of fighting against people who want to defend sythe users, I suggest you get a moderator and get this approved. Honestly! What do you except coming in here with 99 posts and posting this?

 

I'm fully aware of all of this. The problem isn't that many people are suspicious, that's understandable. It's that all of them are so quick to state that they know for a fact that this is malicious, yet don't want to apply any effort in analyzing it themselves and proving it. It may protect some users from actual malicious files, but on the flip side it hurts users who spend their time trying to contribute something beneficial to the community, and discourages them from doing it again. Besides, what got me to code this in the first place was the NUMEROUS requests i saw on sythe.org for such a tool to be created. I'm not asking for trust, what I'm asking for is the respect to not accuse me of having malicious intentions without so much as spending a few and testing it yourself. In a sandbox.

I think a mod needs to verify this is a legitament program, but if a mod gets keylogged/ratted what good does that mod do now?
