Is it safe yet?

Actually, from what ive been informed, it was not the client but arbi's scripts that were infected. I also heard that only 1 version of the client was infected but it was also due to arbi or his "friends"

I'm never using powerbot again for safety measures.
It's like the BP oil spill.
Ruined their image IMO.

Yeah it appears to be safe, but to be honest as others have said what is to stop it happening again?
I mainly stick to rsbots UNLESS its an acc i couldnt give a shit about

Currently using Powerbot, non-preloaded account.

 

stop being cheap and just pay a measly 10-15 bucks for a GOOD bot.

 

I never had any problem with it, though I am aware there way. I never use any accounts that I would worry about loosing on powerbot, mostly chatbots.

Luckily my account didnt get hacked i'd be pretty angry although i was using arbibots around the time it got hacked.

 

I use EpicBot to powerlevel my WC and Mining and stuff.

It's a half decent bot which is free on there website.

Dont let it run for too long though, haha.

Powerbot isn't safe atm. I just logged into my main to find that my character went from Draynor(I was willow chopping) to the G.E. and all my money and gear was gone. Shame, It always happens to me :S.

 

Well first of all, they did find out it was lol. It was a user named Gh0$t who has been on Hack Forums for a long time. He essentially hacked into the Powerbot server because Quaters (Paris' partner) was a noob and left a huge whole in the security. He then replaced the RSBot.jar file with an infected version and it went unnoticed for over a month. In that time he collected 14,000 account usernames, and has only gone through about 3-4,000 of them as of now. He did say that all anyone has to do is change their password and they would be safe from his hacking. He also said he would try and do it again to make a point.

Paris is pissed off that Arbiter and Jacmob (Both were VERY important to the development and growth of Powerbot) were leaving and making their own site, and so he tried to spin up this bullshit conspiracy claiming that Gh0$t is actually NoEffex, Jacmob, Blackbone, and Arbiter (ArbiBots/RSBuddy Admins) all at once, even though Gh0$t has been around Hack Forums for longer than most of those people have been into rs cheating, and we have all seen all of them in the ArbiBots chatbox at once, and have conversations. Paris is full of shit and is just a greedy douchefuck. I could go into more detail, but the level of some people's ignorance is so ridiculous that it's infuriating.

This is false. Read what I said above. On another note, ArbiBots was NOT affected by the infection because they used the SVN rather than the normal .jar download. Please do some research before spreading hearsay
