    Drinking and Driving

I am posting this on behalf of a friend.

This saturday there is a party (alcohol, etc), and my ride there plans on drinking and driving me home. He has never drank and drove before. I looked on the internet and couldnt find too much helpful information, but we need to get home.

Now he does not plan on getting totally throwed and trying to drive, thats stupid, but he does plan on drinking (1-4 beers). Any advice for my friend on this situation would be greatly appreciated.

Also if anyone has any experience with drinking and driving I would love to hear it, thanks.

And also no "just don't do it/ride with him comments"

    Thanks for any input

tell him to just smoke a bit of weed instead of drinking with you guys.

seriously, alcohol and driving do not mix.

you are planning this thing before hand so you dont have the same, well we need to get home somehow, excuse.

if you all want to drink just plan to pool 50 bucks for a taxi at the middle of the night.

    seriously, dont drink and drive.
    its very very stupid.

accidents are one of the leading causes of death for people your age.

Thanks for the advice, but there is a birthday party at which we will be drinking, so the pool idea isn't what we would prefer.

just get him to chug 5 beers at the start of the night.. hell be juiced for 3-4 hours then he will be all good. worst case senario just sleep there for 2-3 hrs or get a ride off someone else.

if ur a noob drinker dont try this but if ur a pro youll be all good.

Don't drink and drive, you might spill your drink.

Does he absolutely have to drive?
    Can't it be somebody else?

It's his father's car, so the car has to come home with us. So far no one has offered any legit advice for driving while under some influence of alcohol.

Well, drinking impairs your reflexes so it would be very dangerous.
All I can advise if it seriously has to happen is that he eats lots of bread, because I've heard that it soaks up most of the alcohol, making the drinker less drunk.

    I can't confirm this though

if he has to drink a few beers make sure he drinks them at the beginning of the night.

a few beers would be out of your system a few hours after drinking them.

Not to be an ass, but are you really that stupid? There is no advice. Just don't do it. It's no wonder today's youth is so screwed up.

Why throw out the only logical answers?

I know far too many people whose lives have been worsened in some way because of drunk drivers. Be the bigger person and just tell him to either A) not drink while he's at the party, or B) don't go at all.

    Seriously man, don't do it.

    Drinking and Driving

a simple "don't do it" plus bad examples of drunk driving isn't really convincing guys.

my friends always told me to not ride motorcycles because of the high risk of getting into an accident.

never thought that it would happen to me, so I ignored all those warnings.

but I got into an accident.

You can easily not drink and be the more responsible one.
I mean it's fun and stuff.
But what happens if someone actually dies?

    Not so fun anymore, huh?

I'm sorry if I seem harsh, but it's reality man.
I've chosen to not drink at parties anymore.
Because I just care for my friends' safety.

    As gay as that sounds..
Would you rather see him passed out in your passenger seat?
Or see him in a casket?

My friend drank & drove from a party once, he only drank two beers. Got home safely, plus I always drink to the point where I know what's going on around me and my surroundings. (This was Junior year in High School)

Good Luck!!!! Stay cautious and awake

Like to see the proof behind this one, eating before can slow down the effect of getting drunk it just depends on the type of alcohol you are consuming. i advice would be to have a deso driver which doesn't drink any alcohol at all, i would recommend you either find a taxi, looks for a place to sleep or even be the person that is not drinking yourself! You really don't need alcohol to seem "cool", plain and simple if you are using it as a way of fitting in then you need to work on your confidence, plain and simple

What's the point of drinking if you aren't going to get drunk?
