i clicked a phish link >.<

i clicked it thinking nothing would happen just to see how it was made, and now my mouse is flashing, is it the phish link?

 

Lol. I doubt it. If you think it is, just restart your PC. But a phishing link is meant to steal your information your enter. Not affect hardware.

Just clicking a phishing link does nothing. You have to enter your details in or if its a download, you have to accept the download. Make sure you always verify that the website you are at is the real website and not a replica.

 

If you are still not sure, run an anti-virus program and restart your computer.

A phishing link doesn't infect you.. seems like most people here just call everything phishing.

If you went to a phishing site, and typed in your real RuneScape account's information, then you are going to be cleaned because the hacker has the password and username you typed in. If you typed in something fake.. then stop flippping out because you are fine.

Nothing can happen to your computer if you went to a phishing site/fell for a phisher.

 

That should be stickied, I love looking at all these topic of people getting upset of "clicking" a phishing link. As stated above if you go to the link and enter something fake nothing will happen. Go to it enter real info change pass and goodluck. Just opening the link will not do anything unless you, are asked to download something, accept a java thing, or use real information. I click on phishing links all the time just out of curiosity. I'm running AVG Free 2011. This is picking up everything, java drive bys, infected .exe files. Easiest way to stay out of a phished situation. Get good Virus protection, don't accept anything without verification, or you knowing what it is, and don't download anything unless verified or you know what it is.

You should be fine. I don't know why your mouse would flash..

I wouldn't put it past AVG to catch everything. I have been keylogged before, even when running AVG. Your best option is to avoid clicking them at all. The worst thing you can do is think your invincible because you have an antivirus.

i would run a virus scan on your computer but im pretty sure you gotta enter info on the phish site for something to happen.:noworry:

If it was a java application, you better re-install windows.

 

I would scan just incase to make sure nothing downloaded without your consent. After that, make sure to change your RS password / bank pin also.

 

As long as you didn't enter information, your fine.

But just incase.. TAKE EVASIVE ACTION?!

 

This is true but there are those out there that slip by but from my experience AVg is the way to go. I switched to Avast cause I heard good things about it not even 15mins later keylog.

The moral of this is be smart and unless you know what you are doing then don't click them.
