OMM online thread.

Maybe i'm just stupid but I find it timely to find an OMM that is online, if one is. Yes we have a list with all of the OMMs, but it doesn't show if they are online or not. Maybe make a thread and every OMM creates 1 post (where they can also advertise their fees etc.) This way someone can go in this thread and quickly scroll down to see if anyone is online instead of having to search. Only OMMs would be aloud to post in this thread obviously, and their post should include their email and fees/conditions.

 

Good idea, maybe they could also post roughly what times they would be able to MM at, like say 5PM-9PM GMT or whatever.. it would make things that bit easier and more organised.

 

I am online day in day out I work behind my computer!

If sythe would give me a position as an OMM i would love to accept!

Anyway. There is an online list down at the bottom of the main page, you'll see most of them there. If not, just shoot us PMs. We answer fast.

 

Seems like a good idea. It'll give you an idea who to PM, rather than PM an entire list of people. I remember when I was a n00b, I was intimidated to PM ranks.

Online list is there for a reason....

 

The online list is there, but it's not exactly the best way to find an OMM if you're new. I'd recommend colored names for OMM's, to make it easier, but I know that would only add to the suggestion that they're staff (which is problematic).

Still, I don't think an online thread is needed. There are few enough OMM's that it's not a huge inconvenience to just add all of them to MSN, and see who's available that way. Even the ones that are on the forum won't necessarily have time for trades; and similarly, the staff OMM's with the ability to appear invisible might be available for trades, while not appearing online.

 

But to add them all, you still required to follow hacked msn's and such, isn't that more problematic?

 

Maybe just add the omm usergroup to http://sythe.org/showgroups.php ? This list is usually reserved for moderators and admins but I think it wouldn't hurt to have them on there.

 

It would be hard.
But someone can code something that will check the online sythe list (every 5-30minutes or so)
and it will put which staff/omm is on (Like set it to recognize names and to put the currently online names of those picked)

OT: Why don't you just look at the OMM list, then scroll down to the bottom of the page to see whether they're online or not?

If they're not on Sythe, don't bother.

 

Tbh I like this suggestion due to less work finding an OMM.

 

The online list at the bottom? Some people don't know who the omms are to begin with. It would take less time for someone to scroll through a thread to search for green buttons (indicating they are online) then to look through the OMM list and then go back to the online list to see if any of them are on.

Would make it a tad bit easier for the newbies and for people who are on the forums excessively.
but honestly just add all of them on MsN, and always ask for a PM before doing so.

Its how i always find my OMMS. "Hi do you have time for a MM".
I dont even post on their MM threads.

 

In theory this idea is great, but I can't imagine the OMMs updating the thread every time they're available and not available. They'd begin the find it tedious eventually and it'll become an unorganised mess.

You can look at the online list, or open all the OMM threads and see if the little circle next to there name is grey or green.
