African Money Laundering Scam

So I just received the stupidest scam e-mail I've ever gotten..

can you believe people actually fall for that shit?
Im curious to see what other things people have gotten like this

 

My father got spam in real life by post. And he never entered his personal information in any suspicious site. I think that tells itself.

 

My cousin works at Bank of America, and he said that one day a woman came in demmanding to see her money. He was confused and asked her to explain. She claimed that so and so from Africa had sent her a couple million dollars, and that she was tired of waiting for her money, and she'd like to access it.

My cousin asked her to explain the situation, and she said that she sent him 10,000 dollars (half her savings) in exchange for his promise to send her a couple million. He then told her that she got scammed, and not to send any more money to him.

This woman was so naive and greedy that he contacted her a week later and said he'd need more money. He ended up completely clearing her out. Her daughter and my cousin tried to tell her what was going on, and she would get belligerent and mad at them, and tell them they were just trying to steal her money.

Yeah, that story doesn't have a happy ending.

tl;dr People sadly fall for this shit. People are retarded, I swear.

Why do they choose always to be from africa?

 

I have heard about people having using people to send packages all over the world for them in exchange for a large payment when the work is done. These people go and do all this work and spend their own cash and when time comes to get their payment, the people have lost contact. It's a shame that people are really out to hurt people financially like this. But on the other end, where did common sense go? you don't just give money to strangers.

Probably so the unsuspecting victim doesn't think it's weird when they can't get in touch with them again. Plus, they may very well be in Africa. If i started sending e-mails like that to thousands of people from my home pc in the US, im pretty sure i'd get busted

I had one of those that didn't match up at ALL. The E-Mail said it was from like Argentina, the email address that it was sent from was mailed from a .edu account here in the US..... I lol'd

 

Nigerian email scams? Rubbish. I feel sorry for the people I see in magazines who fall for something in which the agenda is so blatantly obvious...

 

It takes .001% of people that respond to make a profit.

Theres a reason they keep sending them, they make money.

i get these emails sometimes and just laugh my ass off. its all a big fucking scam.

 

its funny how a prince will randomly email you, who belives that shit..if they do god pitty them

 

Because they are from Africa, mostly Nigeria.

It works in the same way as a RuneScape lure, some person from 10000000 others still needs to believe it

 

I get SO many of those.

 

It's usually older people (30+) you hear about falling for these. They don't understand the concept of how computers work and such and believe whatever they read on the internet.
