    Hey guys I have been feeling really depressed recently. Does anyone know a good way to brighten my mood?

    Depressed. I have a lot going through my life at the moment and I keep thinking about suicide. I feel terrible and alone.

    Thanks. I just want some ideas on ways to make me feel happier :) My MSN is not working properly at the moment and will not let me add people unfortunately :(

    it may sound odd, but i recommend community service.

    for three reasons:
    1. smiles. when we see smiles we feel better. simple as that. when you help people you make them smile. (usually)
    2. build community. with people there to help you, as you have helped them, you have many more resources.
    3. most important, when you do charity work you usually get to work with ppl who are less fortunate. this will encourage downward social comparison. downward social comparison is known to boost self esteem.



    also, just ask your parents if you could get a counselor that you could talk to. it helps just to say a lot of stuff.

    Take various forms of speed for short term.

    Talk to people.

    Exercise - any form.

    you can use "www.ebuddy.com" to add others then get on regular msn after that.

    it's a version of msn that allows you log on msn through their webpage, i have to use it aswell after the latest live update don't let me add others.

    i have an associates degree in psychology and even i dont feel comfortable talking to him.
    the mind is a delicate thing.

    be careful with it.

    Itll be all good Bro. If its weight the Issue then try your best to exercise or if its family then try to reconcile with them. At the end youll make it out if your strong. Trust me im just getting out of major severe depression and social anxiety So Im proof you can get better. See a therapist it really helps you see your problems better.

    Take time out from your normal routine and go and do something different. If the weather is nice go for a walk to try and clear your head. As Tyro said above, trying a new sport could be extremely beneficial in healing your depression. An interest in a new sport could take your mind off being depressed completely. :)

    Play games, go out with friends, involve yourself in as many ACTIVE events as possible so you dont even really think "I'm feeling sad today". Do anything to keep your mind off how depressed you might be will only make it better.
