    Writing a book.

First of all, YES, I am only 14 years old, but that doesn't matter.

So a few months ago an idea came to mind. I wanted to write a book. I've read ALOT of books ( all of the Harry Potters, the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Silmarillion, Eragon, Belgarion series, just to mention a few of the FANTASY books I've read ), so I thought it could work. I started on profiling the characters that might be in my book, and most importantly, started building up the plot.
Coming this far, I've wroten 150~ish pages, and am not halfway completed on the book.

So here comes the problem; I need a test-reader for the book. Someone, who'd give me advice on what I should do better / what I've done right. Where could I find one?

Also, what do you see as my chances to succesfully publish the book?

Oh, and don't worry, I know my English isn't so good. It's not my primary language, hence I'm writing the book in Finnish, which is.

    tl;dr

You could ask your friends like Gohan said. Or you can ask your family members? If you would like, I would love to read your story, PM me the story if you want.

    Writing a book.

My friends don't really like books; haven't told them that I'm writing one.
I've told my family though, and they encouraging me to keep on writing. I've shown them some little stories that I've written before, and got a lot positive feedback.
I also post them on some Finnish forums, and received heaps of positive and some constructive feedback.

But I haven't shown this book that I'm writing to anybody. Can't post it on the forum, because I'm afraid that somebody may steal it. Won't show it to my family until it's ready.

    What do :embar:

Take it to your local library and meet up with people there.

If you want, you could always type the book to me. I'm honestly excited to see all these younger people try to develop all these careers. As for the story being in Finnish, I could always use google translator, which would be fine with me. If you ever want to, I'm here.

Also, as Gohan said. If you don't wanna do this, check your local library/school teachers.
You can be anything you want to be.

I suggest you take it either into your local library or to your literature teacher. Also try to translate it.

Try to find someone who is not emotionally attached to you. Friends and family will most likely give you a good review because they don't want to hurt your feelings.

Perhaps go to a local library or go to a forum dedicated to novel writing. Take all criticism as constructive and try correct the faults in it.

Just keep working at it and I'm sure you'll write a great book :)

I'd love to read it but I can't speak Finnish! Best of luck
