    gauges...

so, i had my ears gauges up to 1 inch and then i realized i'm not always going to be a teenager and i'm going to have to get a job. everyone told me that if i took them out they're absolutely not going to grow up. despite this i take them out one night exactly a week ago just to see what happens... i see a significant change in the morning. they probably grew up by about half the size. now they're a little smaller than a 00 but they're starting to close slower. so i was wondering if anyone had any past experience with this, do you think they'll continue to close up all the way?

I don't think they ever fully close, but they get all nasty and wrinkly almost to the point were they look closed, but still fucked up.

I dont know why any of you are being so judgemental, he's asking a question, if you don't know it, don't post.

@OP, from past experience and friends stretching too, you can normally go to about 10-12mm with it being able to return to its similar shape, if you keep in a similar plug to the one you have in now, most company's wont have a problem, it also depends what kind of job you want to apply for, I doubt many are going to reject you for having such a plug in.

I leave them out most of the time unless I'm going out or in this case posting a picture, cause the hole's aren't the prettiest things to look at. When I'm at home or around people that don't care I leave them out. They stay out the majority of the time.

I'm doubtful that they'll close up completely but they shouldn't be so big after a few months i'm guessing. and if they don't close up completely, these are still relatively small guages and I can always just get flesh colored plugs.

IMO Gauges are stupid looking, but I guess its up to you. Either way, if you are looking into a job, it may affect it, somewhat. By the way, I've always wanted to find a person with the huge holed gauges and put a padlock through it. :D

It's probably because the way for them to heal most effectively is to gradually shift down in size. Taking them out completely would leave a horrible looking droop in your ear. This is why I'm not stretching above 00g -.-

    gauges...

my gf has some and from what i know of is your not suppose to start off with anything bigger than a 12 or 10 size gauge and are suppose to go bigger evry 2 weeks or once you feel cumfterable with the size your at and it stops hurting.

when stretching its suppose to be stainless steel not acrylic. it gets infected and it stretches the wrong way.

if you jump sizes too fast is when youl get the disghuisting wrinkle size jumps are just suppose to be in incriments of 2

they do close completly no matter the size a friend is at 3/4's at the beginning of 2010 and now their fully close and i dont even notice a scar.

    gauges...

I think a few people are missing the purpose of this thread, as the subject is my gauges are growing up considerably fast for being at such a large size. I was just curious as the whether they would continue to grow up completely.

You dont gauge your ears btw, you stretch them.

OT: It all depends on your body. Everyones skin has different levels of elasticity. Some peoples grow back much faster than others, and some dont grow back at all. There is a point (which is individual to everyone) called the elastic limit, once this is exceeded your ears wont ever close permanently. However, i have known people to take their plugs out, leave them for a while, and then restretch with a bigger plug , to force the ear to become swollen and pussy and what not, this encourages your ear to grow back. I have never tried this myself, but I dont see why this wouldnt work, best of luck.

I've heard of this too, if my ears don't start to close back more than they are now within a few months I may try it.

    gauges...

I like gauges, but no double 0's :p.

0's are pretty legit as they don't cause that much permanent damage.

EDIT: OT sorry I have no experience, I have my ears pierced but no gauges sadly. (Parents didn't let me get them :/)
