The new thing, "Doubling money"

Hey Sythe members.
There seems to be a new thing around the grand exchange "doubling money", I'm just wondering if this is a scam or otherwise? And if it is a scam, wouldn't they be banned? Because I see people with santa hats doing it sometimes and etc. and they wouldn't want to lose that by getting banned, unless it's borrowed.
Just wondering guys, cause this is my first week of playing since about 2 - 3 years.

EDIT: I KNOW THIS IS A SCAM NOW AND HAD A FAIR IDEA IT WAS ALREADY. EACH AND EVERY PERSON IS A SCAM, EVEN IF LVL 130, DO NOT TRUST THEM, DONT GET FOOLED.

 

It's similar to the duping scams, where people offer to dupe your items but steal them. It's a scam, and you should report them ingame.

 

Yeah, I thought so. But with such high level accounts, why would they do this?

 

It's likely they are going to just transfer the wealth. Or they're old accounts, given up after FT was killed, and they're just trolling now.

You should know by now that if some one you don't know promise you that they can get you more money in anyway, and what you have to do is give them money/items. Then it a scam.

Are you talking about some one saying that they can double your money if you give them money? Or are you talking about that flower game thing. Lots of high level play the flower game, and some are legit.

But here the scam. They play legit if you bet small amounts of money such as 100k - 1m. Once you start believing that they are legit players, and bet let say 5m. Then that when they scam you.

 

Yeah, some people may be offering to double your money by using the flower game. It's basically gambling - they plant a flower, and you guess the color. Some of these guys are legit, and WILL pay you if you actually do win.

 

And while were at it, can someone please tell me about this dice game too.

 

What I do is I try to scam then back. Offer 1gp, they give 2gp. I offer 1k, they give 2k, hoping I'll go higher. Then I offer 50k saying I might offer 1M next then they give the 100k, then you leave with the cash.

Obviously there are risks involved (they might not give you the 100k).

 

Anything that sounds too good to be true, is. You'd be surprised how many high level idiot scammers there are...

They new "Doubling money" is gambling, since the players know the risk of it. It is not consider a scam, unless he lies and steals your money.

 

Who would even trust somebody with there cash just because they said they would double ur money ^^

 

The doubling money scam has been around for a long time, it's just back since free trade is back.

I mess around with those who want to double my money, I trade them, show all my money and accept then when the second trade comes, I wait for them to hit accept and I decline and call them a noob.

Obvious scam is Obvious, report ingame/ignore/make others aware he's a scammer.

 

Obviously a scam, Come on now - were not level 3's. The trick to this is simply this, withdraw 100M and say can you double 100M, then they say yes, and you say well i want to see if your legit first, give 1M get 2M back give 2.5M get 5M back then say okay, I'll give you 100M promise to double, they say yes, then you say Okay, thanks for the free 3.5M, and leave. I've done this numerous times and profited near 150M from this. Same with flower game, Find a random, say I want to bet . . . repeat process, leave after profiting 1M-5M and voila. Make bank bi-daily. Good luck scamming the scammers <3

 

id say most of these high lvls give it ago because those exact reasons u brought up "why would he risk getting banned" lol they know what ur thinking :O also lower lvls tend to trust higher lvls more for obvious reasons.... its like how old men lure kids in the car with lollies n shiiip

 

Not all are scams. Right before I quit, I was "doubling money". They put up their cash (not very much, because most people thought it was a scam). I put up the same amount, told them to take their money off, then I accepted.

Most people then started coming back with millions, but I only did it once with each person.

 

Gah, this is the stupidest scam I have seen since trimming.
