Were not going to force you yet, but it is highly suggested to get OFF of the following msn addresses:

@live.com
@hotmail.com (this includes .co.uk etc etc ALL countries)


These are stolen/reverted much too often as plznate and cosrob and many others have found out. Our best alternate for you to use is gmail as their security is much much better.

Also DO NOT use private domains owned by friends unless your 110% sure they won't change you password. In other words avoid doing that.

I suggest each MM on this entire site make a new gmail email and a new msn and have each with its own separate/different password.

Yes get off of all of them. It may be a requirement down the road.

 

I have never in my entire time MMing, When I was mod or through all the imposters people have made of me.

My MSN account has never been taken or logged onto by ANYONE else ever...

I have also used a VERY difficult password that cannot possibly be cracked.

I know.. I just know how to do things and play it smart.. Considering my experience and knowledge with hacks and stuff though I assume may be why I am more hard to just have an account of mine taken..

Not even my Sythe account has ever been touched or taken by anyone, I have just not ever had that problem..

If this does go into effect that and becomes a priority that all MM's/OMM's MUST use the Gmail then I have my [email protected] account and I will use it, but until then I will stick with my [email protected] that I have been using for over 6yrs.

 

I don't know if this is really worth worrying about or not. I trust the plznate is smart with his account passwords, and yet he still gets hacked almost weekly. Still, it doesn't hurt to be safe. I'll make a gmail next time my contacts fills, which should be within a week or two anyway.

Question: Why sticky this for MMing? Why not make it a global market announcement? I know that most members worth hacking have their services up for MMing, but still.

 

We have only been discussing staff getting off of these for trading, which we were forced and all agreed to do. Next our concentration is MM's and we may broaden that at a later time to the entire market.

This is simply a warning we hope that users will start to comply with so we can finally put an end to the majority of the hackings. Also enough people look in here for the word to get out for now.

 

Thinking about getting a domain because of imposters. Never been hacked though.

 

It's basically suggested that you get a @gmail for assure you don't get hacked.

 

I made a gmail for future reference and gradually will switch over
but user "classics" of this forum was hacked the day he got his gmail and i belive they have the same security as makeing a hotmail offer

How can you use MSN with another form of @whatever.com address?

I thought msn can only be used with @live or @hotmail (I've seen @yahoo and @gmail, but no one explains how )

 

You just set it as your email when you sign up. I just did it a few weeks ago when my account was hacked (which is really weird, I don't see why it would be worth anyone's time to hack me.)

 

what about @msn.com?

 

My email and sythe account where hacked I would like to make a @SytheSafe.com email but when i try to donate to be eligible it says there is something wrong with the paypal link ed to the donating link that would be a good idea to take off the mandatory donating and make everyone that signs up on sythe eligible for one on a safe domain only accessible by administrators or hell only sythe himself.
