Runescape is comming to a end? Discuss.

Ok, stellar dawn is coming out this year, my suspicion is that JaGeX is not going to update RuneScape majorly, maybe bug fixes here and there but nothing major.

now my reasons behind this would be that JaGeX have suddenly giving us what we want, (free trade/wild/no chat filter)

so what do you think? will stellar dawn fail? will runescape still be updated?(more skills) etc..

Doubt it, Jagex isn't too stupid they wont ditch an MMO making them tons of money especially after a huge influx of players.

Hell Runescape wont die for now especially since free trade/wildy came back. This is just the beginning for runescape .
Didnt even know about this game. Gonna check it out see what its about.

As a poster said above, Runescape is just being reborn. With everything comming back that probably majority of the players in Runescape wanted, Jagex is probably getting more money than ever.

 

RuneScape is funding this project, I don't think they'd abandon it lightly.

Stellar Dawn is going to be more of a strategy game other than RuneScape. Runescape won't be dying any time soon.

 

I think stellar dawn will develop a playerbase but it wont be the same as runescape, i think runescape will retain the same amount of players while stellar dawn accumulates a nice number as well

Stellar Dawn and Runescape and created by two serperate sections of Jagex, They will both be updated as usual.

I doubt it, seeing as I haven't even heard of Stellar Dawn. Seems like others haven't heard of it as well lol.

Jagex is making a shitton of money off this update, I doubt they are going to let RuneScape die anytime soon.

Runescape is a huge game and will only get bigger. They will have a runescape team and a stellar dawn team just as they do now. Regular updates will continue.

 

RS still has a huge player base, Jagex isn't gonna simply drop everything and walk away. Stellar Dawn is a different type of game that will attact different players. Jagex will probably just hire more staff and use them to manage Stellar Dawn if it's a success. I'm not saying RS update frequency will be *exactly* the same, but I don't think it'll change much, at least for a while.

 

RS was said maintained more of the 13-21 age group.
Stellar dawn is said to be more of a a 18-36 age group I believe.
