Now The Facebook Phone? Yeah, It's Real.

Remember all of those rumors of a Facebook phone? No? Alright, you got me, it wasn’t all that news worthy, because no one thought it was real. Now, ladies and gentlemen, I give you video proof in a walk through provided by TechCrunch.

Labeled as the INQ Cloud Touch, this mobile is based on the Android operating system, centralized around Facebook and it’s services.

I knew they'd make one. I doubt it will be as good as the iPhone. But, it'll probably put up a good competition.

God, I hope not. I just report the news, I don't have to like it. It's just a skin over Android, and Facebook is getting all the rep, while INQ makes the hardware. It's crazy, but it might sell just being called the Facebook Phone...

@SMR - Yeah, it's been a while, but I realized that I could give back to this community and contribute some intelligence in the area. HAHA

 

I'd probably buy one. My life revolves around facebook happenings.

it looks pretty awesome, and would be handy, but again i don't think it will be a match for the almighty iphone4!

 

Everything is better than the iPhone and it's grip of death. I know plenty of people in the industry who put up with the iPhone's terrible hardware quality simply because they use iMac computers at work. Hilary Goldstein of IGN.com is one of these people. He recently changed over to the Android-based HTC Incredible as a result of the failure.

I really don't know what to think of this phone, and whether it's worth looking into, i currently have an iphone 3g and have no issue with it whatsoever, what's so great about the newer phones that i should spend good money on?

 

I know some people on facebook way too much, anyway..

 

The only reason it's being called 'Facebook Phone' is for more market, nothing else.

That's true, and the fact that no other branding of phone would make their device so Facebook-centric. There's an app, I mean, really. I'd much rather have Vizio's upcoming tablet or phone, simply based on the fact that it can serve as your television's remote, and it uses the VIA apps system, which might actually include Onlive in the future, since that service will be in their televisions as a VIA app.

 

A phone centered around social networking.

You can social network just fine on your computer or on any other type of smartphone without having to have that as its sole attractiveness.

 

It's nothing more than a gimmick titled with the word 'Facebook' to gain interest in the market. Everything probably feels and looks fake. I didn't even bother to watch the video or anything. It can't even be mentioned in the same breath as any of the top of the line Android phones out right now. And dare we mention the iPhone? Oh jeese...

I'm actually interested in the HP Pre 3 right now. For a slideout keyboard, that thing is thin. Bigger screen this time around and webOS is looking fine. The form factor just clings to me for some reason. Get some more devotion from developers and I'll hop right on.

 

jeeze with facebooks privacy standards you might as well borrow strangers phones... no thanks i would never trust the facebook company with my phone security/privacy and i dont think others would either imo

 

Lol... Facebook didn't make this phone. It's just labeled as the 'Facebook Phone'. It runs Android my friend. And I suppose you won't trust Google either? Explain to me why you use any Google and Facebook products then... (assuming you do)
