    Is "love" a fallacy?

Human judgment and reason are perpetually flawed by an emotion coined "love." Do you believe that "love" is a fallacy?

    Edit: please justify your belief

yes, if someone were to hold a gun to a truely loved ones head, you would do quite basically anything. emotions, very sadly, are a flaw

It's an emotion you feel for someone, do some people have the capability to express this emotion? Yes, while others may not.. To myself, it feels like a tie of emotions together, not just a seperate emotion.

    Lol'd

Love is just a mixed of strong emotions for someone. The type of love that is often described in modern times is said to be a strong bond between to individuals that no matter what they will protect each other, be there for each other, its magical, its forever, etc. Love has been successfully been masked to be something its not.

Its just a mix of different emotions, some people think they are in love when they are just liking the person....so its different from person to person.

    Is "love" a fallacy?

It depends on the person. It is impossible to convey the true meaning of love with words and thus everyone must make their own judgement as to what love is for them. The actions that occur based on this feeling are irrelevant.

I disagree. They way you said it appears to be that people make their own definition of love.

The actions are relevant, how would it not be?

    Is "love" a fallacy?

Feelings direct actions unless you have self control. Everyone must decide for themselves what love is to them just like they must decide what friendship is. What love is can not be defined as it is an emotion that exists within the consciousness of a single person. No other person can experience this same emotion. Love, thus, must be defined by everyone.

Don't restrict the fallacy to love, EMOTIONS are fallacious.

You're all assuming that emotions have specific parameters. At what point does being upset turn in to anger? For some they would say when you feel the uncontrollable urge to yell, others the urge to hit. And yet some will go as far to say that from the first slightest violent thought you have you have already stepped into the anger position. Love is a lie and there is no better way to describe it. To love someone is to give them everything you can in an emotional sense. Giving someone your hate and you happiness all will qualify you to love someone. But at the same time being a psychopath is the inability to understand basic emotions as the general public. To love someone in their minds is much different then to love someone in anyone else's eyes. It's a shady area trying to give something intangible a definite description :p

Emotions shouldn't even be concerned with logical absolutes... It's fallacious to even attempt to connect the two.
