Luring Ruined??

Hey guys! After what I encountered yesterday luring might be almost impossible now.

I lured a santa hat into the wild. The guy had about 10 lobsters, some other crap, and a santa. After I killed him he dropped all of the items except the santa. It seems to be jagex has rares protected now, no matter how much you die with. Also rares are auto removed when you enter the wild, and it won't let you put any on while in the wild. Now the only way to get a rare lure drop in the wild is if the other player is skulled. Now that is nearly impossible unless you use the Red Chin method which is hard to get people to fall for.

My question is did anyone else encounter this problem, and is f2p luring nearly impossible now?

 

It would suck if it is finished but i guess it is one of the terms for the new wildy

 

Dude lobster is a little cheap to protect over santas. I see videos on YouTube of rare lures and they seem to be doing fine. So if it goes to there inventory. Who cares if you kill em you still get the rare.

 

Items are now protected based on the GE value, not high alch value.

 

Yeah, are you sure that the Santa didn't just normally protect over lobster?

 

Or he used protect item?

 

Santa keeps over lobsters. He probably just wanted to give you a heart attack in real life. Sorry for the double post I only read the post prior to mine.

 

I'm sure its based on high alch values not GE prices.
He had lobsters (which protect over santa), maple logs, 1k airs, 2k fires, and black d hide chaps body and runeboots (on f2p world)

I just can't figure out how santa didnt drop. I think its something new Jagex added that they didn't add to the news on the home page. I lured someone with a red mask 3 days ago and they could wear mask into wild, but now you cant even wear a rare in the wild. It has to be something new.

 

Before the GE was implemented this was the case, however jagex changed it. They may have reverted it again since free trade is back?

 

lol. this sucks if it is accurate. im friends jenny though. she seems to be doing alright.

 

There is a number of items that protect over a Santa, and 2 items that protect they are way lower in price.

They are trying their best to take lureing out of the game but there are several ways it still can be done...

 

If what happened to me is the new rule or whatever its gonna be very difficult to lure. The only possible ways I could think of is if you lured someone with 4+ rares or get them to skull with red chins or something.

 

If so that sucks, luring is probably one of my favorite if not my favorite thing to do in Runescape.

Items don't protect on g.e value, i can tell you that for a fact.

Luring rares isn't really that easy, best luring method im aware of at the moment is blessed spirit shield, get some prod from edge risking rune and using a gs to fight you up at level 11 wilderness were it just becomes multi, have a few friends dd'd just north, let him kill you for the blessed spirit shield (obviously wear rune etc so he doesen't suspect anything) once he picks it up clan rushes in 1 hits him, the blessed spirit shield protects over godsword, free Godsword.

 

AH haha so that's how they were doing all the GS lures on RSC PK GEN
